Crash on loading figure with non Daz wardrobe
Win10, Daz 4.9
This is a 4.9 issue because of Connect. I believe Daz is having site issues.
Daz crashed upon attempting to load in a Hair from Rendo, and gave me a log that said libeay32.dll issues with encryption caused a crash. Subsequently, could not load the same figure after restarting Daz (has a OOT dress from Rendo).
I could lead figures and stuff with only Daz content. Which was odd.
I tried to submit a ticket, but the site was not reachable.
Then i read others having same site issues. This made me put 1 + 1 together. It must be a Daz internet thing.
I fixed my libeay32.dll crash problems by going to Airplane mode. This stopped Daz Studio from trying to phone home about Rendo objects and getting the runaround by the 500/404 Daz URLs.
Seriously, though, if I'm offline mode, why is it trying to phone home? Why did i have to cut my internet entirely to make Daz not crash? Not cool, Daz. Not cool.

It won't phone home, unless you are connected or participating in the product improvement programme. I would suspect that putting the system in aeroplane mode may also be switching off some monitoring or security tool that was causing the crash.
As you say, Windows 10 may have made a security change behind the scenes since I have less control over Win10 than Win7.
However, I'm linked to the internet now. The same figure that caused the libeay32.dll crash previously? She loads just fine now that Daz's website issues are sorted out.
Perhaps Windows 10 reverted its security change, or reverted libeay32.dll. Very coincidental, in any case.
I had the same issue; libeay32.dll crashed my daz3d at every turn
- cleaned out my cms in %app (no luck; only cleaned up old references which is an added benefit)
- installed standalone version (no luck)
- reinstalled it manually all base levels (no luck)
- renamed libeay32.dll to libeay32.bak - dumbest advise ever as Daz3D needs the dynamic library for functioning - no luck
- a good fella here pointed me in the right direction though; since it crashes randomly and it has something to do with connections;
- it seeks connections at any point; does not matter if you are online or offline; it just bounces and crashes again
- what seeks the connection? is the main 2cent question here: answer; customer improvement program. untick the particate and no more random connections are sought; and no more crashes in my case.
- I have seen this only in windows10; not in windows7;
- most certainly an innovative way of getting interacting with your customers; DAZ3D is doing a marvelous job; very happy and impressed; this was a bit of a puzzle though; hope the bug will be resolved soon.
