Victoria 7 vs.Victoria 4

I'm new to DAZ Studio although in the 90s I used Bryce and Poser.My question concerns whether I need Victoria 4 if I have Victoria 7.Any thoughts on that  ?

    With DS you have Genesis, Genesis 2 M&F and Genesis 3 M&F  all free.  With V7, you should have quite a collection of characters, especially if you bought the Morph packs to go with the various Genesis females.  V4 has been around for quite a while, she is older technology.

    No. Victoria 4 is the generation 4 character of Victoria following the generation numbering system, not to be confused with G, G2 & G3 which are all Genesis based.

    V7 is a Genesis 3 based character and has no association to V4 apart from the obvious confusion arising from the continuing use of the name "Victoria" . If you're confused by all the "Victorias" and "Vs" and "Gs" floating about,  you wouldn't be the only one.

    Also, if you have lots of V4 items then there are ways to get most of them to work on V7.

    Victoria 4 can load into Carrara where Victoria 7 can't.  Also more clothes for Victoria 4.

    I have a more pokemon esque answer, all have their own merits, I have renders where I have used several generations to get all the characters I wanted in it!! Gotta have em all!!

    If you're using only DS, you really don't need V4. If you use Poser, it is much easier to use than G2 in Poser, although it is doable. There is now a tool at Renderosity to use G3 in Poser but I haven't tried it yet. Personally I like V4 in Poser but the Genesis line in DS which I am just starting to use and figure out LOL...

    Off topic, but M4 Base is free in the Vampire bundle today. :-)
