Clean Uninstall / Reinstall questions (MAC)
Running Mac OS X 10.11.4 and looking to thoroughly uninstall Daz3d and reinstall in on a seperate harddrive.
It's eating up too much space on my SSD currently and I want to move to a different drive. I've changed the DIM 64/32 bit software and content updates to /Volumes/OtherHD/Daz3D. The program installs fine, and starts up fine, but then I begin hitting problems.
None of the files load properly (eg Victoria 7 loads with generic G3 body shape) and with the figures none of the associated actor sliders are appear. I've tried doing database maintenance but to no avail. Am I missing something in the preferences?
In summation:
- What is the best means of doing a total uninstall / clean install?
- What do I need to do to install Daz3D in a folder besides the generic Applications folder and still have it properly load all the associated files?
My apologies if this has been answered already, and thank you in advance for any assistance.

In Daz Studio, go to Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager and make sure both "Daz Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats" (and Daz Connect Data, if you use it) are pointed to the correct location. Is the OtherHD an external or internal drive? If external, how is it connected?
Sigh, you know I thought I had changed those over, but I guess I didn't.
That solves that problem, then.
Harddrive was internal, by the way. Not sure if/how that would have changed things. Once again, sincere thanks.
Good with internal drive, external drives on ÙSB tend to drop out on sleep from time to time, causing probllems when they come back and get a different name, Mydrive becomes Mydrive_1
And wireless networked drives can have similar problems...wired networked drives are less likely to drop.
Yes, but on OS X, Thunderbolt is much more stable than USB when it comes to sudden deaddrops.
That's good...
