You can now search the old DAZ forums with keywords and user names etc.

If this is already known by everyone, just delete this thread.

What hell?! Awesome! I dunno if it's common knowledge, but I didn't know that.

You couldn't do that even when they were live.

I noticed that the search function began working back in July. But I don't think any mention was made of it. Probably because that was the same time that the archive site was further broken beyond usefulness.

I say that because, before July the forumarchive site was very responsive, and even though the images did not display, you could still find old posts fairly quickly.

After July, searching became functional, but every link that you click now is delayed 22 seconds before it loads. Now, while 22 seconds might seem trivial, if you need to click through several links to get to your destination, it quickly becomes very frustrating.

This 22 second delay is consistent throughout the archive site, and I suspect that it was introduced in a faulty attempt to restore the search function.

I really wish the developers would take a look at this problem. I've mentioned it several times on the forum, and so far no one from DAZ has chosen to comment on it.

You can see the images with some manipulation, although only one at a time. you take the postimages/origimage_1_3388917.jpg bit from the html image code in the post, and add it to http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/

    so then you get http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/postimages/origimage_1_3388917.jpg

which will display the image if you click it

There's also a Greasemonkey plugin to display the images automatically.

Could someone please confirm that they too are seeing a 22 second delay after clicking any of the links at http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/ ?

    Thanks.

I get a 13 second delay when I click any of the links there. But lately the DAZ servers seem to be slow even when you're trying to shop - maybe because of the sale.

Roughly that, by 1-missisippi, I don't have a stopwatch handy.

It's a mighty PITA when you're sitting there waiting, for the 10th time...

But it did (and does) often fail when you click the 2nd page of author search results. At least when it's "All posts by".

I just refreshed my memory on that point, today...

I think it used to do that with a keyword+author search, but more rarely.
