Fitting G1 Shoes to G3??

Hi All,

Is this possible? Fitting G1 shoes to a G3 character? Or G2 to a G3 characrter?

In particular, I'm trying use "Ballet Point Shoes" (Purchased form Runtime DNA) designed for G1-Victoria 4.2 on to a G3 character. I can get them to fit a G2 character, but not having luck with the G3. Is there a mod or a converter that will do this?

Thanks.

Sol

I'm curious as well. I have a number of G1F & G2F shoes that I would like to use on G3F characters.

Not easy; flat heels might work, but the bones are different iirc. I'd say try the ones you want, and see what happens.

I had to do some work with these in Blender, and these are flat shoes, although they weren't too bad. (They are the Genesis Preppy shoes (with the socks). http://www.daz3d.com/feeling-preppy-for-young-teens)

    EDIT:

Just tried these and they seemed to work well; PC+ item so if you're a member are $1.99 too.

Heels though, I've never seen them work even sort of well; but you might get lucky.

In "layman's terms", can anyone explain why that set of shoes would work, but not others? I would think that if one does, they all would. (Sorry, not a 3D guy, so don't understand this stuff technically.) The "Ballet Point Shoes" I'm trying to use do not have heels. ( http://www.runtimedna.com/The-Art-of-Dance-Ballet-V4-Toe-Shoes.html )  But they do have a slightly extended toe, as Ballet shoes have a small "block" in the toe that supports the dancer while "on pointe". When I try to apply them to G3, they lock into a position inbetween the feet. So thye don't really go onto the feet at all.

So with all the converters and morphs that the DAZ Store sales, there's nothing out there that converts shoes?? Kind of surprisng. I would think that if DAZ were going to release a major upgrade to the base/key figures (G2 to G3) that the customers are to move to, that they would at create a "fit-converter" that would cover a good portion of the exisitng content, such as something like "shoes".

They are victoria 4; so that might be the reason. There are some ballet shoes for either G1, or more likely I think G2; they might work better.

G3 has more bones; it isnt easy to get something to fit G3 from earlier - especially shoes. And sometimes they seem to fit, but certain poses work better than others.

Anyone else happen to have an answer for this? Solutions? Mods? Converters?

    Thanks.
