Possible to 'Reset' Figure Settings?

I've had a few instances where I had gone in and tried making changes to the Surface parameters of a character (trying to get rid of the wonderful moire/lizard skin for example) and just wasn't fixing the issue I was working on, so I really wanted to reset the settings and undo the changes I had made so I could start over. Usually this is on a figure I've already done (extensive) posing changes to, plus other things, so I'm not wanting to just delete and reload the character. Is it possible? If so, could this also be done on other things like changes to texture settings on clothing? Settings for lights?
Hitting CTRL-Z can only help so far....

You could reapply the material settings.
Ok, time to show my stupid.... but how do you do that? Let's use V6 as an example....
For V6 the material presets are in Content Library > Daz Studio Formats > [content library name] > People > Genesis 2 Female > Materials > Victoria 6 and is named "V6 Belle All.duf" -- if you're more comfortable with Smart Content/Categories it's in Default > Materials > Feminine > Belle > Skin.
Ok, I see it for V6, but not for some other characters. What if I wanted to change out the AoA SSS for the omUberSurface... I can't see where to change that. I select all surfaces using the AoA Subsurface, but where in the Surfaces/Editor do I swap it out? There's nothing like a button to browse for the surface... and I don't even know where the UberSurface would be located. Just a lot of parameters to change....
Content Library > Daz Studio Formats > [content library name] > Shader Presets > omnifreaker > UberSurface
Ok, found it. Oddly enough, I would have expected to use the HumanSurfaceBase under Human Surfaces, not the UberSurface one.
Now, one (hopefully) last stupid question.... how do I apply it to a character? Do I just double-click on it with the character selected, or do I go into the Surfaces/Editor tab and replace a map somewhere. I don't see anything to indicate where I would put it in.
I feel really stupid asking what seem like really basic questions, but I've never replaced a surface on a character like this.
Generally I hold Ctrl while double-clicking so I can make sure maps aren't replaced.
HumanSurfaceBase is in Omnifreaker\HumanSurface
