How to reset IRay surfaces?

I've hit this issue several times. I apply an IRay preset (it might be the Uber shader) and then try out other (purchased) shaders. Once I do that I don't seem to be able to return to the Uber shader or the original that I started with. I generally need to reload the character or prop which can be a real PITA.
So is there a way to remove a shader and go back to a previous state?

Do you mean you can't restore the Iray Uber shader, or you can't restore the original settings?
Either and both. If I have the Uber shader active and then select another shader (metal or lace or satin, etc.) then the settings change as you would expect. But there seems to be no way to return to the plain Uber shader. Clicking on the Uber shader preset doesn't ignore the previous shader settings. Also, If the product came with a custom shader and I try another instead, I can't return to the original.
I wouldn't expect the Iray Uber base to change any settings, but I would expect a custom shader for the product to do so. What's displayed at the top of the Surfaces pane when you apply the second shader?
I'm not on that PC right now. I'll check later.
Does saving the initial Uber shader as a shader (not material) in My Library give you a clickable workaround?
Sorry to ask but have you tried Ctrl+Z to go back on the shadder move?
Sorry - have been away for a while. Here's what is happening:
Apply the base shader, then save a new Shader Preset and make sure you include all properties (or all values if you don't want to change the maps in resetting - or you could save two new presets, one affecting maps and values and one values only). Use the option menu at the side of the dialogue to control what gets saved.
I thought the Uber Shader was a shader preset already?
Yes, but a shader preset can make many or few changes. Most presets have an option dialogue after asking for the name which allows the user to choose exactly what will be included in the preset.
OK thanks - I'll give that a try.
