Grouping objects prior to rigging.
I have a complex object I would like to rig as a figure. It is a basic rifle with folding stock.I created it in Blender. Can anyone tell me how I group it prior to importing it into the figure pane? I have imported it into Daz already and parented it as a prop and rigged it that way but would like to convert it to a figure for ease of use.
I have been trying this with no luck. It either ends up being so many component parts that I cannot join or one part I cannot differentiate. If anyone has a good idea how I can group it in Blender or Daz and then rig it I would really appreciate it. I have looked through many tutorials but they focus on figures and weight mapping or say how it is important that my objects are already grouped when I import them which does not help if I do not know how to do this.
If anyone knows of a good tutorial that would tell me I would like that also. I would buy the tutorials offered here on Daz if I was assured they dealt with this but do not want to waste time and money if they do not address this.
I am currently looking through Blender tutorials but so far they have not helped.
Thank you for any help you can spare.

You need one group for each part that must move.
