Lighter / Porcelain Skin?

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a quick, simple way of making a character's skin more like the skin of a vampire - in other words, lighter or more porcelain-like (for 3Delight)?

Most of the characters I own have either the AoA Subsurface shader or the omUberSurface shader for their skin.   I've tried messing with some of the dials

on these shaders, but I don't really know what I'm doing.  Is it even possible to acheive the result I'm looking for?

One way is to use the Iray skin mats. They tend to look silvery when rendered in 3delight.

Some of this depends on what skin you're starting with--the lighter to start, the easier to make porcelain-pale, of course. Using AOA subsurface, I find using the milk or marble settings can have a good vampire effect, depending on your light--it's a very white undercolor and the marble in particular seems to have nice translucence. If a skin is too ruddy, you may want to try adding a very pale cyan or blue to tint the skin--these colors, used sparingly, will wash out the red or orange tones to an extent, but beware over-bluing unless you want them to look a bit grey or green. Nice for zombies, not so nice for vampires a lot of the time. :)
