Photoshop confusion

I have worked in PS since '94, and I am totally stumped ...

I have some png blood smears I really want to use in post, but they're all grey. I don't mean grey-scale. I mean RGB mode, but grey.

At first, I assumed a simple 'replace color' or 'variation' change would do the trick ...

WRONG!!!

No matter what I try, tweaking saturation, hue, anything, gets me nowhere.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help ya'll can offer.

:D

Trying to attach pics of where to look but I keep getting the following:
"Error Message: Unable to receive your submission at this time "
    WTF

I should know by now just to ask in this forum first, rather than asking on twitter and hours of web searching.

The color overlay did the trick. Thanks so much. I can't believe I've never needed this tool till now ... lol.

    I owe you one :D
