That's good, but the question is, are the drive letters associated with the disks they were associated with before they were detached? For example, if you have a disk called SEAGATE that used to be your F drive, is SEAGATE still your F drive? Are all the drives and letters still associated the way they were before you shifted them?
Second, mostly unrelated, question: when you look at the files in your drive and directories, do you see the file extensions? For example, when you were trying to upload the file, did you see something called (for example)
Daz File Name
or was it called Daz File Name.daz?
I'm asking because, rereading the thread, I think you and Richard may have been talking past each other a bit. Whatever you scene is called, it's going to be a .DAZ file, due to its age; they stopped using that file extension around Studio 4.5. It may be that the web browser or the forum software, or whatever, needs to be able to see the file name extension to identify it as a valid file to upload. Not sure on that, frankly. If that's the case, you'll need to have Windows set to show file name extensions.
These web pages may help you understand the two different things I'm talking about:
Assigh a static drive letter to a USB drive in Windows 7
How to show or hide file extensions in Windows 7 (to show the .DAZ extension to make sure your system and this one understand what file you're trying to upload)
All that said, you may still need to talk to Daz technical support, and even then it may be difficult. The problem is, Studio 4 sometimes (usually) doesn't understand what to do with a .DAZ file; the file format is no longer used, and Daz tech support doesn't keep or maintain pre-version-4 copies of Studio around, in part because so much of what they've produced in the past three years can't work in version 3. I *think* 4.9 is supposed to be better at reading .DAZ files than earlier version 4 software, so they may be able to help a bit more, but I won't swear to it.
