So I made this star trek inspired render... wasn't sure where to share it but this thread seemed as good as any. Hope you like it.
"You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
the enterprise model I think it looks fine :)
look cool :)
It looks good to me too but none of the spec maps are used.
Another one of my WIPs. This one is killing me though. Taking up all my time! DAMMIT!
Now available at Trekmeshes...
Also, the STMC logo is available as a seperate prop
i really like this render but i do have a few questions . is this figure romulan of vulcan , the tactical combat suit feels romulan as does the assault rifle , however the lack of expression on his face reads as vulcan . it is a wonderful render but it feels slightly unfinished ti me becouse there is very little to tell me who this guy is
Well it's done. Book One of the Tales from the Mirror Universe.
Here's the link to the book. http://www.deviantart.com/download/343214708/fortuitus_changes_by_pdsmith-d5oca5w.pdf
or
http://pdsmith.deviantart.com/#/d5oca5w for the site without the direct link to the book.
Got it and have definate plans for it in my next book. Thanks MM!

Thank you for the comment. I agree, I should have established some context. I posted this image on another site and here is a better explanation that I provided there:
It is a render inspired by the Vulcans in Star Trek. They are one of my favorite sci-fi species because they overcame their violent nature in favor of logic and reason. That triumph can only go so far, though, as they exist in a universe full of very real threats and danger.
I have titled this render "In the Pale Moonlight," which is taken from the name of a very good episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which in turn was a reference to a quote by the Joker in Batman (1989): "You ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?" In that episode, the protagonist must betray his personal ideals for a greater good.
Violence is the antitheses of Vulcan evolution, and yet here we see a Vulcan soldier, armed and apparently deployed to some hostile planet.
It has been a while since I have posted anything. I just bought Rduda's Battle Bridge and modified it for a story of mine set in the 23rd Century. There is not a lot of TMP love here so I thought I would post it
At this rate I will outgun EVERYONE in the Alpha quadrant by the end of the year! Thanks again Matty!
The next ship has been sent to Erik @ Trekmeshes. I will hold off on telling which one it is or posting a promo.
In the mean time, please enjoy the Enterprise-A :D

Shortly after landing on Altair IV

might have to make it an advertisement in the next novel. Which by the way is already in progress...first render is done!
Anyone know a fast way to get hold of Rduda and Ptrope?
DA. He's on there often or the TrekBBS.

I tried DA- even posted on one of his pics. Got nothing back so far- from either one.

last time I spoke with him, he came online and post a reply to a question late at night, my time. (aka 10m Pacific.) so if you hang around till 1am your time you might get a response.

Got Ptrope. Now I need to find Rduda.
very cool
Looks real good,
But if I may make one suggestion, add a cotton based bump map to the uniform, or if there is one, increase the % or +/- on the settings.

All,
On an unrelated matter, I'm looking for feed back or what to make better in the coming graphic novels for the Mirror Universe. Lighting, pose, poke through I may have missed, small details that are easily over looked.
If you noted at the back of the novel there is a time line. As of right now there are 7 more Mini-graphic novels planned. Mini being 12-20 pages long in the same format of 1 to 2 images per page. Scripts and story format are already laid out. I'm looking for graphic image look....and yes Madison, most of us know you don't like the diorama look, but that going to stay.
So everyone, be brutal. Unlike many in the art community I have thick skin. With out critisim I'm not going to know what I need to do to push the envelope to make things better or more enjoyable. You can post your opinion here or if you don't want people to know what you said out of the fact someone might flame spray you, send me a PM or a note over at DA.
Thanks gang.
My objective is to get as many of these mini stories out as possible before I transfer to my new job. If certified and fully qualified, one of new jobs will possibly be of me as the ship's safety officer for the dismantle and deconstruction of the USS Enterprise when it comes to the shipyard here in Bremerton. Time will tell.
