Make sure you eat a lot of grass before doing down for the winter to back you up like bears do.

Nah, that's low-calory food. I'll just chow down half a moose and lots of wild berries, that's a better start. :)

Stupid travel tip: Whenever taking a three-hour tour be sure to pack your entire wardrobe, every book you own, and a huge trunk containing several million dollars in cash.

If they had been more realistic, by series end Ginger & Mary Ann would have been down to shreds for clothing and more than likely wearing tied together palm fronds. The downside to that is so would everyone else.

Realism: Gilligan would have been killed by the others the first time he screwed up their rescue,
Then they would have escaped the island in the next episode.
    Final result: A Miniseries.

    Jaderail said:
Only to the ones who hold the secret I need to defeat my Dark Queen so I might return home. But I must LEARN what a visitor knows first...

A little persuasion often jogs those deeply held secrets free...

In the AD&D realm I'm a Neutral Evil Drow who was Exiled from the Underdark for losing a Minor House war the DARK Queen had demanded be won without her interference. She was not pleased, neither was my dame Lady Sunder. Death would have been kinder. You Surface BREEDS are soft, my sham kindness wins so many of you over that most of you see me as a helper rather than a foe.

Now please tell me my friend, which of these NEW Tech's will send me back to my Realm of Magic? And give me the Might to face the Queen.

In Spyro's world, the Light is not so bright. Those who fight evil are another form of evil. Both sides are twisted, but what separates them is their values. Family, is not necessarily your ally, love turns to betrayal, and those who consider them selves 'light' are the most darkest of them all.

Those who fight for freedom and justice, also seek revenge... They are products of the enemy, corrupted by the enemy... their skills in war, the deadly arts, evasion, stealth, tactics... ALL were gained from the enemy, all are to be used against the enemy. But there are only few that have ever escaped their grasp... Even fewer that survive the years to come.

The few that do survive, they unite, but their efforts would wasted on the battlefield in head on attack, they are too few, and no one else is willing to rival the enemy. They target those with authority. One by one. Stealth is the key. Where does it end? ...

    It ends where it begins.

...and Forsaken Daughter is watching you all...

Like Jaderail, "the Kid" originally came from a gaming world - Shadworun. She survived through four revisions of the Shadowrun system and even did a stint in a D&D world. Her career began in 1992 (RL reckoning) in the gritty shadows of the Seattle Metorplex. Her full story is fairly detailed (110 pages single spaced). Last mission before her retirement was in 2005 (RL).

Kelly (her given name) was basically the victim of her elven father's ambitions and national politic who at the age of twelve was abandoned in the old Lloyd District of Portland, Tir Taringire to fend for herself. She was one of a set of twin daughters born to an elven couple. In an odd fickleness of the new "awakened" genetics, when twins were born to elven parents, one child was always human. In this case, that child was Kelly.

For those not familiar with the game setting, the Tir occupies what was formerly the state of Oregon and a sliver of northern California. It was founded as a place for Metahumans (the "non human" races in the game world) to find a place of sanctuary from persecution after the "Awakening and UGE". Unfortunately that didn't last very long as a number of powerful elves took control making the Tir an almost exclusively elven nation (akin to the Tir na Nog which used to be current day Ireland). Other races were relegated to becoming second and even third class citizens, while humans were looked on as the "lowest caste". All non elves that didn't or couldn't leave were forced to live in the city of Portland which was surrounded by a ten metre high wall.

The aforementioned Lloyd district (formerly a bustling shopping and commerce area) had over the years become a haven for squatters, the "SINless" (people without a System ID Number), and of course a "criminal element" known as "Runners".

Salem, the Tir Capital (where Kelly grew up) was almost exclusively elven making her an extreme minority. At first her parents, who were well respected, did what they could to give her an equal chance, but there was no changing what she was and no way she ever would be accepted as a "full citizen". Her father, a renowned geneticist who had moved the the Tir from the UK, had caught the eye of several of the council for his pioneering work and for which he was afforded Tir noble status. In the Tir one can rise in social standing though work or contributions that improve the quality of life for all (well, for the "majority"). However one thing remained in his way to further advancement that could eventually lead to a seat on the council itself, the human daughter.

Kelly was already seen as a troublemaker in school even though most, if not all of the time, it was usually instigated by the other elven kids. Eventually she was expelled from the academy she and her sister attended after a fight with another student left that girl with a broken arm (Kelly had taken all too well to martial arts training in gym class). From there things went downhill for the girl as associates of her father's began to apply pressure to "do something" about the human child. Eventually it was decided he would abandon Kelly in Portland while saying that she ran off on him when he was taking her to a boarding school there. Her disappearance would be carefully "covered up" by a couple of his associates and after a staged search "turned up" a body a couple weeks later, the case was closed.

...well sort of. But that is another story for another time.

    Llama of the Old West
    by Tjohn

    Ride me llama,
    Ride me hard,
    You can be the cowboy,
    I'll be your pard.

    Over the meadow,
    And the water we'll go.
    You can yell "Yippie!"
    I'll shout "Ky-Oh!"
