I think it was something pertaining to D-A-Z and S-E-X.
Although looking again at the Topic Title the concept of "Daz needs to show more respect to the adult entertainment industry re: 3D content", leaves me wondering why DAZ3D as an internet content provider should be expected to give a tin crap about how their customers choose to use/abuse the content they purchase here?
The products sold here are affordable, quality content for use by 3D Artists both professional and amateur (this content does what it is intended to do; no more, no less).
DAZ3D compares very favorably with other sites that do the same.
If you don't find exactly what you want here, look elsewhere or learn to make it yourself: I do.
This is not a rant. This is not condemnation. This is just fact.

The complaint - I think - is, why go only half the way, and not release a 100% complete figure with all morphs, bells and whistles in the first place? Thus saving time and money for their customers to go look at 'other' places for a fix creating realistic human figures? One morph in question was the buttocks and thighs.
If they released a figure that was complete then the entire business model would change and there would be no need for Vendors. Imagine they released an expression pack that could do it all. Now all vendors who make make a living doing expression packs are no longer needed. Also how much would a pack like that cost you? Also Genesis is designed to be multi-morphing. Maybe if the buttox and thighs were done correctly or the way people want, It would break or look strange on other dialed in shapes. I have seen this happen before with a couple of body fixing morphs. Looks great on one shape, and the results are strange on another.
Don't put words in my mouth, I never said that.
And since Richard put the brakes on my argument; even though it is not political in nature it would refer to international laws, or laws in countries out side of America, I'll respond to someone's over the top, extremest argument with this.
re·duc·ti·o ad ab·sur·dum (r-dkt- d b-sûrdm, -zûr-, -sh-)
n. pl. re·duc·ti·o·nes ad absurdum (-nz, -ns)
Disproof of a proposition by showing that it leads to absurd or untenable conclusions.
Exactly right! And as people are turned into criminals we tend to have less respect for the law. The point brought up earlier about prohibition in Finland parallels what was experienced in the US during the early part of the 20th century. And after the 60s the crackdown on pot has caused an explosion of alternatives all more intoxicating and dangerous than what was only a mild high.
I'm not saying that there shouldn't be restrictions, and punishments for actual violence or property abuse committed while under the influence, but making criminals out of everybody just for getting high seems to be counterproductive.
Same thing with images. As pointed out earlier, artistic images of consensual sexual acts are different than images of rape and abuse only in degree and perception. A snapshot of what looks like sadistic torture by a 6 foot bullwhip causing angry red (bloodless) welts crisscrossing the naked back of a man chained to a pole can actually be a depiction of mutually enjoyed exchange of extreme sensation. I personally have been on both ends of that scene and never has there been any anger or sorrow or forced intention. The end of the scene was always a loving embrace, with tears of mutual joy. But a casual observer would have been hard pressed to see this without viewing the entire scene and talking to the participants. I'm not saying that there can't be accidents but that is true of any activity in life. Smart people try to avoid them. In any extreme activity I've been involved in, the limit was "let there be no damage, mental or physical". No blood, no long lasting bruises, and absolute respect to stop if asked.
HOWEVER, I do find it impossible to accept an image of an adult doing that to a child. In that case there can be no informed consent. Depiction of abuse of innocents is totally offensive to me. But where do you draw the line? Is the image a photo of a wrinkled grandfather kissing his grandchild goodnight the same as a wicked pedaphile engaging in foreplay? It's impossible to define porn except by examination of the source and intent.
Awesome yet ANOTHER of your products I will be buying. Is this for Genesis or V4.??
S.K.
that's fine for me.
i prefer a complete figure over vendor fixes.
vendors can create other morphs, clothes or props.
There is a big difference between what you do in the privacy of your own home consensually, and the poser porn I see. 99.9% of what I see has nothing to do with consensual. They depict little more then brutalizing a captive woman. If it was what I see in the main stream porn industry I'd have no issues with it, but sadly most often that is not the case.

Genesis so far.
13 pages and counting.. I'm still trynig to wrap my head around the concept of RESPECT for the adult enterainment industry....
I thought respect was something earned, not a given..
maybe, hip swapping geometry? denser mesh. it would need more morph channels. estimating the level of effort, can't decide how much of a commission would be motivating.
Do you find it less respectable than the other entertainment industries, and if so, why?

I don't think its more or less respectable than any of the other entertainment industries, but it hasn't done much to earn my respect, imho all the entertainment industries have kind of gone down hill in that department anyway..

Oh I'll put it right up there with the rest of the brainless shlock that's coming out of Hollywood. :) I mean if it has a plot and story line so shallow as to be practically nonexistent, it might as well be porn lol
Fine, let me amend it: you seem to have the opinion of almost all digital porn being about brutalization of people, specifically women.
Well I'm not going to buy that claim. Perhaps, just perhaps it is that effect I mentioned above (because lots of image store places disallow sex of all sorts), or perhaps some people move around different sites altogether and see less of the stuff you see, and perhaps the stuff they share is not like you describe. I am not going to do "guess the percentages" game, but I have seen plenty of consensual, fun sort as well.
I do not deny that violent render porn exists. It does. I have seen it myself after all.
But:
1) I am going to dispute it being as huge problem as some make it seem to be. Most people are perfectly capable of telling fantasy and reality apart from each other, and know that what is possible in a fantasy would be seriously BAD THING in Real World, thus they won't enact it. FANTASIES are FANTASIES, and we have those for a reason.
2) I am going to dispute it being as prevailing as you think. It is simply loud and in-your-face than more subdued consensual stuff, so you're risking confirmation bias here.
Second, I want to remind that some people who also do less porn-y stuff for Rendo and DAZ and DeviantArt also do stuff for other places, ranging from rendered erotica to porn to digital goodies. Some of the stuff in this thread comes pretty close to accusing them of gods know what -- proliferation of sexual violence or whatever, even if all they had done were some sex toy objects or fetish clothes. I dislike broad category judgments a lot.

Oh, come now! *Anything* from the left coast is shallow. :-)
One could say that what is happening to their fiscal situation could be classified as a type of porn.
Kendall
*eating popcorn* hmmmmmm
Hey, is that popcorn I see? With or without butter? I got salted peanuts, wanna trade?

lmAo?!? :: gigglefit! ::

That's a problem across all kinds of entertainment from Hollyweird. Just take a look at some of the non-pron movies, and you'll see what I mean. The problem with pron is lack of interesting story, and that leads - more or less - automatically to boring pron. Thus a qualification of why I said in my previous post (once seen... etc.). So, if the saying about things starting out in the adult entertainment is by any stretch is true (they started the VHS-revolution vs. betamax), then no wonder movies these days are pretty much dumbed down crap.
Since this was ignored by several posters the thread has been locked.
