Well, good or bad, it is right there in the rules on the first page. I think the intent is to encourage new artwork.
Title: Evolution
Stonemason products used: Urban Sprawl 2
Software used: DAZ Studio Pro 4.5, Photoshop CS6, After Effects CS6, Vue Complete 9
As I pondered Stefan's call for a dynamic image, I kept coming back to the idea of one landscape changing throughout time. What could be more dynamic than inexorable change? :wow:
I've had a lot of fun with this. I hope I have time to make a second one...
That's an excellent idea and a good execution of it too.

Its is technically new here... No matter rules are rules wanted to post them in good fun & got to do so. I sell commissions so its not like I need the content/ money...
Nice work mate, looks like and in game screen shot :)
FYI - Nope I wasn't that particular milk man, I have never delivered milk in my life...I just said that's what I was doing :)
...I attempted to keep my NAEs confined to links rather than actually posting the image so as not to confuse the issue (and take up more forum bandwidth). Regrettably, slipped up on one.
I posted the NAE links to pay homage to one of the great 3D content creators . Alas I am on a very old system that no longer supports the level of vision I have so there will be no "official" submission for this challenge.
Best of luck to all those who entered.

FYI - Nope I wasn't that particular milk man, I have never delivered milk in my life...I just said that's what I was doing :)Thx Laticis... You know me I like to mix it up a little and it is far too early to be laughing hard...I hurt now. :P
Agreed. A WIP thread might have been a good choice. Leaving this one for only official entries.
"Morning"
Rendered in DAZ Studio 4.5, post processed in Adobe Photoshop.
Used "Streets of Asia 2."
I also think the "this is not an entry" posts shouldn't have been allowed just for practicality's sake. I know everyone means well, but if you want to join in on the fun, join in. If you're not going to join in, then don't complicate things for the judges by adding images that aren't entries.
Agreed
I decided not to be intimidated by all the great artwork here so far and submit this as my first entry :)
Title: The Thrill of Discovery
Software used: Poser Pro 2012 and PhotoshopCS3
Stonemason product: Return to the Enchanted Forest
The goal in this was to achieve a sort of cinematic storytelling but with the added subtext of "the west discovers the east" theme.
Please click for full view!
My second entry.
Title: Wingover
Stonemason product used: Winter Kingdom: Castle Ruins
Software: DAZ Studio 4.5 with postwork in GIMP. I wanted to put this up now, but I'd honestly like to try and render a larger version of this image later. The scene is very, very resource intensive; so I made the initial image far smaller than I usually would have.
Agreed
I pretty much agree. I personally don't see the point. You wouldn't go to a singing contest and say I'm not really entering but here's my rendition of ...
I've run contests and I know how much trouble it would be to go through all the entries alone. Here, you're going to have cull the legitimate ones. I think Stefan's the only judge right now, but a lot of judges wouldn't even read the 'this is not an entry' stuff. I wouldn't. I'd just grab images and judge them. I don't know about all contests, but with most that I've been involved, the judges don't really read the text. We just grab the images and put them somewhere outside the thread, making them easier to review without bias since we won't know whose is whose. As the limit is two, I'd take the first two from everyone and disregard the rest.
But this isn't my contest, is it? ;)
Yeah, all the non-entries are only creating more work for the contest sponsor(s).

I love this. Great image and story, well done!
Wonderful entries!
Thanks to this contest I got to begin to learn Daz Studio and Reality (my usual software is Carrara) so bear with me!
First entry
Title : playing truant!
Created with Daz Studio 4.5 and Reality 2, postwork Photoshop
Stonemason product used : Dark Places: Back Alley 2k9
That's an excellent idea and a good execution of it too.
Thanks!
I was also stunned to see that was my first post. Maybe I posted on the old forum. All I know is I've been coming here forever!
I'm in but won't win, my machine is to small to work with stonemasons stuff to bad.
Bridge Jumper
Akio 3, Mitsu hair, I don't know the cloths I think lynx with Fairy wing and Sub Dragon
Stonemason's Under the Bridge with Ruin Bridge expansion.
bridge jumper: I forgot I used DAZ 4 only
Feel very silly, I only now realized I didn't say what software I used (it's D|S 4.5)
Updated my entry hope my slow moving brain didn't disqualify me...
(Though as new entries are posted what little hope I had is slowly crushed by the gravitational force of awsomeness)
Personally, I love seeing all the renders, both entries and NAE's. From this I am able to gather inspiration. I also love to read all the comments because I can learn from the comments as to what images actually grab someone's attention long enough that they actually take the time to comment. So many times the only comments are on the NAE's because others fret thay may sway someone's opinion on what is good within the contest. So with my comment about the separate forum I was not implying the other images or comments should not be allowed. I was simply saying that a voting gallery could have been a plus for such a formidable contest as the Stonemason contest has become.
And besides as I'm sure Stonemason would have been hoping... In seeing all the products in use, I have actually added into my wishlist a few of my favorite items from his catalogue that I had not known existed before.
Never too early for a good laugh ;)
Entry #1
Title: The Forgotten Soldier at the Lost Outpost Still Standing Guard
Software Used: Daz Studio
Stonemason Product: Level 19
Agreed
I wanted it to be an entry but then was told it was not valid due to being posted on D/A previously. Went to remove them out of respect but was not able to. Sorry if my trying to have a bit of fun upset some of you cheers & peace out! Perhaps I will crank out fresh material if I find the time... To make sure there is no further misunderstandings are Lux renders permitted?
Thanks for running the contest, good to know there is still time to develop some pieces.
Yep. There are entries that used Lux.
Hi All !
I appreciate entering a competition with your first post may be not quite the right thing to do but I only found DAZ Studio software about 2 months ago when I had done a search on the internet for 'greebles' and came across the work of Stonemason.
I have only bought a very few models as of yet but wanted to join in after seeing everyone elses awesome work ! I agree that it's very inspirational to see what others can come up with.
Entry 1

Actually, the standard rule for these contests is that the artwork not have been seen anywhere else at all. In other words, it should be an original piece that was created specifically for the contest. And it cannot be seen anywhere else until after the contest is over.
Deleting an existing piece everywhere else and then submitting it doesn't make it original.
Besides, I don't know about you, but a lot of this is supposed to be for having fun and fueling the imagination, isn't it? Not recycling old ideas.
