    Greetings Bunyip02,

wow, thanks so much for the blow by blow!! That's very kind.

I may have to fork out for the pro version of  Filter Forge so I can get bigger renders - I think it maxes at 3000 pixels?

Your welcome for the blow by blow description, did it in case a few of the others might be following whats being done.

    Filter Forge Basic/Standard is 3000 x 3000 pixels maximum.

Filter Forge Professional is 65000 x 65000 pixels maximum, bump and normal maps, and an unlimited number of CPU cores.

thanks for the detail - just the basic workflow ideas (steps/layers) involved help broaden our ways of thinking about all of this. The result is wonderful.

    cheers,

    --ms

Thanks - plenty of avenues to explore as well.

I remember being camping and putting on my wetsuit and there was a bull ant inside of it - so yes, I remember, and this is what it felt like - nice image :)

'The Phantom couldn't quite put his finger on it, but the face at the gate seemed a little different.''

about five Filter Forge filters - old photo, comic and Topaz Impression and a mild (very) dose o f carrara sand plugin, plus used Oloneo HDR for fine tweaking

Awesome!  Thanks for the details.  Because of work like this, and because Daz is apparently offering the latest FF version for $60, I'm weakening.

The only quibble I have is the dog pose.  I think the dog would be doing something else at this moment - sniffing the ground perhaps?

  • HeadwaxHeadwax Posts: 9,987

ha ha yes, it was a hard choice - he is supposed to be howling!

  • UnifiedBrainUnifiedBrain Posts: 3,588

Yes, it looks like a howl pose.  But under those circumstances, I think that Phantom's dog is too cool to howl. smiley

At last I found a way to try Topaz Simplify with Affinity. Just messing around filtering some of my native Carrara's renders with Topaz Simplify and Filter Forge.

I remember those cartoons, Stezza!  Wonderful memories.  Vyusur, I guess I am the outlier.  Although I like both versions of the Western saloon, I like the B&W version even more.  Bunyip, I'm ready to visit that tiny blue planet!

Here is some fun from me.  With the recent sales, I realized that I had Howie's DarkWald set but never used it.  Decided to explore a little.  Here is a fantastic world render.
