Luci45, he looks very good. How much GPU memory does he take up? I have 6 GB GPU memory, and I couldn't render 2 squirrels without it falling over to CPU.

Ouch! I don't know. I didn't look. That's a lot of memory for all the fur! Will check next time.

Can't wait to get back to my computer (on vacation right now).

Nice thing is that right now I'm on an NPR kick and 3dl is great for my purposes, which takes little effort with lamh.

    Great images, everyone.

@Stezza: How did you manage to make such a nice fur in Carrara? It is amazing.

I love the squirrel, so cute, I wasn't sure what thread to put this image in i used iray geolocator too and have to say that product is great too.  It's not a complete render I cancelled to save a draft, I'll post the final one once it's done rendering hopefully by tomorrow morning

I got the squirrel stuff the first day it came out, but I didn't get to play with him until I had a chance to go into my Windows install and play with LAMH there.  I love the squirrel.  I thought I'd share my first pictures.  I thought I'd try out the Prevost Squirrel.  I roughed up the fur a little bit before exporting so I could render in Iray.

And the European Red Squirrel rendered in 3Delight which I might have oversaturated just a tad in post:

Nice work, AM!  I looking forward to the chipmunks!  They are one of my favorite critters.  Oh, and add another vote for a hedgehog!  That would be very cool.  :)

A little later than I intended but here are selected highlights from my first crop of cute little squirrel jpegs. The backgrounds are Abandoned Temple and Willow Creek, both by Stefan "Stonemason" Morrell.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

And now for something completely different... inspired by Pugmire, a D&D setting in which dogs have inherited the mantle of civilization after the Masters... died off/left? I dunno, I only know the general game concept. Dog adventurers!

I've been thinking of doing this for a while, but I'm glad to do it with a better model than I had before.

  • Update just released with 4 additional Pose Controls (open mouth, tail left/right, tail up/down, tail S), and fixes for two tail poses.

That's great, thanks. Which of the three should we reinstall?
