I just wanted to thank DAZ and its programmers, and its admin, for all the hard work they do, and for all the coolest stuff they give us.... including the most recent, but not limited to:
The DAZ Installer manager. OMG You have just made my life sooooooooooo much easier! DIM is just brilliant. It makes installing stuff so much quicker and easier. Ive been wanting to clean my runtime now for ages, and this is the perfect thing to do it with.
For getting Genesis into Poser via DSON, so we Poser users can play with Gen too.
And for all the things they do for us, the community, the PA's and the customers.
Rah rah! :shakes my pompoms: goooo DAZ!

With IgnisSerpentus permission...
I'll most enthusiastically second the motion!
The occasional minor complaint aside... THANK YOU DAZ!!!
Okay, you can stop with the DAZ Bashing now! I can tell this is a thinly veiled attempt to cut DAZ off at the knees and beat them with virtual rubber hoses! :P :P :P
Greetings,
+1
I have just passed my 1 year anniversary in this crazy community, and using this awesome program. I could list my history trying programs like this, going back to a DOS-based tool called Mannequin back in the 3D Studio (pre-Max) days, but I never really clicked with anything (Poser included) until about a year ago, and I've been absolutely crazily happy about spending insane amounts of money over this last year.
So yeah...for dredging back up my illustrative side, and providing me a GREAT new hobby, THANK YOU DAZ!

lol surely you jest :P
Honestly, I've never been disappointed with DAZ. Ive been shopping here since 2004 (yeah... sighs, I'm that old) and a broker since 2008.
And yes absolutely.... anyone may feel free to add their thanks as well :)
The #1 thing DIM has done for me? Helped me find content I didn't even have installed. Some great, great content that I'd simply bought and never installed in the years of doing this stuff.
Love it.
I've been very pleased, too, both with DIM, the sales, and with Studio 4.5. Thanks DAZ!
Ditto :)
I'm still boycotting DIM till DAZ brings the creeper back!
I must admit I am really liking DIM as well, at least to the extent I've played with it. I did download all my purchases through it and fairly quickly and easily though I admit a small fear in installing it from there as I am a bit of an organizational freak and I am not sure how to manage organizing it with DIM in the mix but regardless what I decide to do, just the download was REALLY nice. Click and walk away...no going one by one by one :) YAY!!! Cuz that takes FOREVER LOL
yep, I'm still a fan despite the hiccups. If I have issues they are resolved normally fairly quickly through customer support. And now that I've renewed my PC membership...I have subscriptions yay and I also love the new DIM
Rah rah rah Siss Boom Bah
I also second that notion - THANK YOU DAZ!
Love the DIM, love sales lately, looking forward to the future!
I wanna say thanks also. It gets real old fast seeing all the complaints in the forums, many of which are for issues i have never experienced, so i kinda wonder. I have been here awhile, gotten lots of great products at some great prices and for the few issues i have had, gotten support in a reasonable time frame.
It's funny, I am a long time poser user and tried DS a few times but hated the UI. I was an early adopter for Poser 2012, but have only done a handful of renders with it,.Then came reality and Lux and I had to learn the UI to get the renders i wanted. Now I open DS4.5 most of the time and find the combination of Genesis, GenX, autofit and the smoothing modifier to be absolute necessities in my workflow. If the next DS were to have .3DS and .LWO import options, dynamic cloth that doesn't rely on Optitex, much better collision detection and modeling and terrain capabilities like carrara, I would have all that I need!!
I really have no interest or need for the new DIM, but if it makes everyone else happy, way to go!
lol surely you jest :P

Never been disappointed? :gulp:
From the run-the-newest-gizmo-before-fixing-show stopping-bugs, to their choice of Magento for the web team (and the premature release thereof)? There are numerous things where DAZ has baffled me, and sometimes made me disappointed. But it has never discouraged me from buying stuff from vendors here or from DAZ3D itself, nor have I anything personal against the good people working at DAZ3D (they are courageous for pulling the company through-and-through). But some of their decisions needs to be revised. The first on the agenda; get rid of the bugs, then the newest gizmo.
I am certain that DMI is excellent in what it does, and I am glad you have a use for it. In the future I might even hop onto the bandwagon, like you IgnisSerpentus, but for now I'll keep things as they are. I hope they next great thing would be to fix what they have right now (programs, web-forums software etc.) I'm not raining on your parade, for proof see my smiley here:------>> :cheese:
I've been with DAZ for nearly 2 years (just at the tail end of DAZ Studio 3 Advanced and the dawn of 4.0), so not as long as the "old timers" here, and I only really thought of using the forums a little later than that. In that time, I've had more good experiences with DAZ than bad ones. Though perhaps I'm just not as cynical because I have fewer experiences. Still, I am also thankful for the good that DAZ has done and try to look past the low ends.
I do hope those lingering problems that I often read about (Platinum Club issues, bugs, legacy attention, EULA, Forum consistency, etc.) get resolved just so more people see the company is doing what it can do for the best of both itself and the customers and community and isn't out to ruin anyone's day by design (which appears to be the consensus of some).
DIM is good. DIM is great. DIM makes me want to ..... celebrate. I forget, I have to behave here! :P
Did find some products that haven't been added but did make a very brief bug report (title and link to product)... mostly hair products and the Fairytale Cottage, which is just so whimsical. Even Cath used it in her Red Riding Hood promos. SO reported that one.
Just a side note, I know that some hair gets a bit squashed when converted over to Genesis. I just converted AprilYSH's Betty hair, using the V3 version. Adding a smoothing and Sub-D erases all the kinks. It's lovely on Genesis and the morphs are awesome. Just wish there was a way to move the morphs to the top of the stack rather than have them in the neck.
Also sorta getting the hang of creating my own meta data. Betty showed up after I saved it and then right clicked on it and chose "Categorize" and put it under the Hair>Long area and there it was. There are .ds MAT files I need to tweak and convert still but it's a great style. Wish she would convert more of her stuff over. Love Aprils stuff.
While I think some of DAZ's decisions are a bit questionable at times it always seems to work out OK. SO fingers crossed and as I say... onwards and upwards.
I will add my thanks to DAZ for DIM. I am not in love with it, but that is largely because of my internet. Once I can convince a certain individual to upgrade our internet, I might change my tune, but DIM is useful to help me keep up with my newest purchases. I still have over 1200 items to download, and more to come I am sure, but it is already showing updates, which is one thing that I am glad for.
I haven't tried it mostly because of the derivative work clause, it seems a bit vague and unilateral.
Well I'll certainly add my thanks as well. Like Barb (IgnisSerpentus), I too don't necessarily install my content in DAZ Studio to the default Libraries as I would if I were still using Poser, but as Ann said, being able to click a button to download it all (though I'm doing it in batches) and being able to go do something else while it works in the background, is a huuuuuge plus. The fact that I can see updates as soon as they're published to the store, instead of having to guess when they'll be available, is another plus.
As far as installation goes, I haven't decided yet whether I'll use DIM or not. I've always installed to a dummy folder on my desktop, and then manually installed items the way I prefer in Libraries I have customized. I think, though haven't tried it out yet, I'll be able to install to that dummy folder and keep all the product's manifest files in that folder, but remove the installers to my backup external hard drive, and DIM will think the products have all been installed, even if I there are products I haven't actually installed as yet, simply because I kept the manifest file in that dummy folder. At least in theory that should work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it does as I don't install everything I buy as soon as I buy it. That way I won't have thousands of files listed in DIM as "Ready to Install". ~grin~
thank you for great Install Manager and me starts dreaming about softbody collision engine in upcoming studio version.
I absolutely love DIM and can't praise it and DAZ enough for this remarkable tool.
Way too much veiled DAZ Bashing going on here! Y'All aught to be ashamed! :P
<---being contrarian becuz he don't have no Creeper! :P</p>
I have a different Thank you. Nothing against Daz themselves i do not dislike or like per se, they are a company so it's not like i know them on any level "lol".
But!1!1!.... I would like to thank the community here at the daz forums. That's why i keep coming back and why i stay. (wait if i stay then why did i write keep coming back? oh well I'm not changing that now)
I may be just a mere blip on the radar here if that, but i have enjoyed my time here and learned quite a bit over the years.(maybe had a little to much fun with daz studio, I would have never thought it would take over so much of my free time I figure I'd have had my fun with it forget about it and continue back to drawing, but now i find i do less drawing over the years )
I doubt i would have even given this hobby a second thought if it wasn't for the community here.
I mean i am a pretty anti-social person (the uncomfortable around people type not the insane serial killer type of anti-social) and i post here quite a bit.
Sure not every one here gets along all the time but who does. It's still a great environment. Yes that is because Daz does have the forums but it's the people here that keep them interesting to come back to each day.
(I'm pretty sure I'll deny i said anything nice in the future though so..........)
Well, I rarely give a company full points for the way it conducts its business but I must say I really admire DAZ for the work they've done so far.
I entered the 3D scene a little more than ten years ago when posette and the poserman were the only stuff a 3D hobbyist like me could use. Then came Daz' Michaels and Victorias. That was a huge leap forward in quality. And it was the only way to go since no other company offered the same quality of products at a reasonable price. This was repeated through all generations of characters. Specially with Genesis. Thus I have some good reasons to stick with DAZ.
I can't say I've been happy with all decisions DAZ has made but in recent times DAZ has brought more to this community than ever before. I really appreciate that even when some stuff came with a bitter taste :)

OK, I haven't tried the install manager yet, but after reading all the glowing the comendations in the thread I will try it very soon.
As the title of the thread says "Thank You Daz" I want to add something I just noticed just now. Look, look, the product page shows me I already purchased something! Yea! *Does extreme happy dance.*
By the way, amazing freebies the last few weeks Ann and Frank.
Ooooo yeah there's another. I LOVE that it says when I purchased something. Really cool addition.
I am absolutely RAPT in the new DIM (although seriously, who the heck comes up with the names for these things?? DIM?? LIE??? )
I have had not a single problem with it so far - the occasional drop out of connection, but meh, I go do something else for 5 minutes and then it's back. The download speed is just FLYING for me, and everything so far has installed correctly to where I set it to - I just go in and rename and change stuff myself later. :D
LOL I like the kooky little acronyms.... it makes it easier to type.
And hey, it could be worse... could be VD (vermillion dawn... yah did I catch a whole lot of crap from Ann over that one lol)
My thanks to DAZ folks too! :)
(I'm mostly Poser user but started to learn DS lately, making some backs and playing with figures).

ah, but you did that one deliberately! (c'mon, we KNOW you did *grin* )
