I am absolutely RAPT in the new DIM (although seriously, who the heck comes up with the names for these things?? DIM?? LIE??? )

I have had not a single problem with it so far - the occasional drop out of connection, but meh, I go do something else for 5 minutes and then it's back. The download speed is just FLYING for me, and everything so far has installed correctly to where I set it to - I just go in and rename and change stuff myself later. :D

As long as they didn't chose Buyers Alerted Redirected Flow Inside Negotiable Gateway (randomly made name to create the acronym). Keep it simple. But download speeds are dependent on the DAZ servers and the recipients download speed. Before DIM I couldn't really complain that DAZ was 'slow', except in certain circumstances, eg. when everybody and their grand-mother wanted the latest iteration of DAZ Studio WITH Genesis content.

And I generally like the company of posters here as well. Even those who disagree with me. I liked using DAZ Studio from the first version I downloaded DS (with Victoria 3 and the fae-stuff), and I still use the program. I don't think I will switch to a different program, because DAZ Studio is the major tool I use in creating art. Not to mention I do some post production in Photoshop.

Anyway, I (still) hope you'll enjoy DIM to the fullest extent.

I've been trying to learn more about the DIM utility before I start messing with it but I haven't been able to find out much about it. Mainly what I'd like to know for now is how does it determine if there are updates you need? Is it based on being able to tell when you last downloaded an item or is it by looking in your Poser or Studio install at what you already have there?

It does, it will show new items and updates in two different panes in the same list, very handy. NO more searching itemized history, reset, specially when one item in a huge bundle is updated, you just cluttered your whole downloads with tons of unwanted stuff (and sometimes it was hard to figure out in which bundle item X was that you needed to update. This is a great program (I can retire my DAZBitRockRunner.app now)

    Ok, I'm sold.

Edit. Ok, hope this works. I downloaded and installed DIM. I pointed to an external harddrive, and decided to just download for now. Hopefully when I plug in the harddrive after coming home with my laptop tomorrow, DIM will recognize this.
