    1. You should absolutely start your own WIP thread :)

And two, I"m very embarrassed to say that I am unsure who you're creating... is that Merida from Brave? I don't think you named who it is...

Okay... got the modelling on the wrap done. I think I'm just about there with the gown. There are, however, slight issues on the UVS on the skirt, which I wuz afraid of... We'll see if I can get those fixed... I dunno...

I have a bigger image on DA. Will be rendering it out to 300dpi for an 8x10... (3000x2400 pixels)... now... I'll start doing the background before going back to the hair...

That is really impressive, especially doing it all from scratch. Congratulations on a job well done!

That's gonna be tough! She's already depicted in 3D! Looking forward to your progress... now where's that WIP thread again?

That shoulder drape is excellent. Any thought of turning it loose? I could see popping that over the top of a lot of the strapless whatevers out there to considerable improvement.

The trick to the shoulder drape, wings, whatever it's called, is that it's a separate figure that conforms to the dress. And the only part of the geometry that shares bones is the chest. The wing area that goes around the shoulders is a completely different bone on each side that have to be manually posed.

And yes, right now, all it has is the MFD rig. But after I finish up this project, I'm going to rig the skirt the way I want it and release it on ShareCG.

And WATCH THIS: it will be released...

    ...SOON!

    Amazing work Wancow!

I was wondering if it would be too much of an issue converting the hair to the ponytail Belle wears through most of the movie? It looks like the shape for the front part is there that's why I'm asking.

as an excersize, I'll likely make it as a new hair. I'l probably scrap this one and start over again because i know people will want it. I'll see what I can do in that respect. The hair really isn't that well made, at least not for distribution. for this image it's okay, but that's pretty much all.

Impressive. That would be a salable package if the texture artist chose to put it on the market.

...don't sell yourself short, I wish I had your level of modelling skill. Gonna be an uphill climb (learning MD2) before I can create something as lovely as Belle's dress.

...though after yesterday, I now have plenty of time.

I just happened to stumble upon this tread while looking around, and I'm sure glad I did! Belle is turning out great, and it is amazing to see the progress as it unfolds.

Elspathswd, your six year old just made my day!!! It's exactly who I'm trying to impress :) What is his or her fist name?

Ladyofmanyfaces, thank you so very much!

Sorry, hardly come over to the forums, Just got another opinion from the Disney Princess Aficionado and she just lit up and said, "That Belle is awesome! Mommy you've got to make that." So, you definitely are on the right track, lol. Her name is Athena btw.
