*Today I was "shorted" by a half hour & feared I would have to pay a second fare to get all the way home. This has occurred in the past.

Staying up all night playing PC games would make it hard for me to even start work, let alone finish it. Of course I am like a 153 yrs old, which don't help (take off a hundred is my actual age, adding the 100 is how I feel).

I'm 151 so not far behind you. And your so right, I'm just so not into the work today. I'm thinking of playing again, but it might turn into another all night thing.

I keep thinking abut getting Diablo 3. Then I remember how I spent an entire weekend, up until 3:00am every night, playing Diablo 2. And up until midnight on weekdays.. for weeks.. :-S

So I just buy more eBooks instead.. Raymond Chandler this time.. :red:red: I don't stay up QUITE as late! :)

Am too addicted to C&C to ever be in the same room with it again
...for me it was Civ. Had a few too many nights when I looked up at the clock it was 9:30pm and the next thing I knew it was getting light out. This is why I no longer do any computer games.

Complaint/question: Why is it that if you buy something after a search at eBay, they will forever keep sending emails with "suggestions for you" with that thing in it? I searched for and found a Pampered Chef cheese grater with the storage cup add-on. I bought it. I was satisfied. Now every time I get an email from them about suggestions, there are more cheese graters...not the one I was looking for, just random ones.

eBay knows that what you really need is 50 cheese graters, even if you do not know it yourself.

Well, we really got that one because our had a crack in the storage cup and we wanted a spare. So we actually have two full sets, and that's plenty.

It seems that DAZ3D has the same idea as eBay, then. We really need 200 skimpy, almost not there outfits for V4, A4, etc. that all look just about the same. And we need to buy the same models that we have for V4 when they're re-rigged for Genesis/V5.

Complaint: The new Monthly Freebie is not free...it says $2.99. I am still a PC member, so it should be free.

When will this store be without these constant glitches?

    Greetings,
N.b.: Try adding the monthly freebie into your cart, then going to your Shopping Cart page. Apparently it should provide a $2.99 discount, so it becomes free again.

    Dana

When they switch over to their next store software. ;)

Folks seem to forget that the old store had as many, and often more, glitches than this one does. I recall PC discounts ($0.99 PC items) that bounced to 'full price' after the $0.99 sale ended, folks unable to download items, folks unable to purchase...and that was with the old system.

So I'm sure the next store software they switch to, in 4 more years, will be greeted with horror and despair, and 'Why not go back to Magento?! At least it worked!'

Complaint/question: Why is it that if you buy something after a search at eBay, they will forever keep sending emails with “suggestions for you” with that thing in it? I searched for and found a Pampered Chef cheese grater with the storage cup add-on. I bought it. I was satisfied. Now every time I get an email from them about suggestions, there are more cheese graters…not the one I was looking for, just random ones.

Now...eBay is my wheelhouse... The deal is that there are many buckets you can put items into. The 'I need things like this regularly' or the 'I need one of these' categories, for example. eBay's big market for a long time was collectibles, and recurring needs (like packaging, or re-sale items). If you were interested in collectible X, there's a REALLY good chance you'll be interested in collectible X', as well as X'' and X'''. Unfortunately eBay has moved from being a collectibles-oriented site, to a general marketplace. (It was a change they had to make to grow and continue to exist; niche is death.) So now, if I buy a trash can, it's VERY unlikely that I'm going to need another one for a few years. Still, if you're buying to re-sell, or you're buying for recurring needs (I need 15 boxes every month to mail stuff out in) then the reminders make sense.

So it's mainly a carry-over from earlier days when they were 90% right if they told you about similar items to what you'd already bought.

Amazon is still not great at this; if I buy a Blu-Ray player from them, they'll advertise more blu-ray players at me. I know, from folks who work there, that they're working on this.

As for myself, my ObComplaint is this: Remarketing sucks! If I happen to drop by a car site, because I errantly clicked a link, it is beyond creepy and annoying that on NON-CAR sites I browse for the next few hours, I'll see advertisements for the car site, or even the specific car, that I had clicked on. This is called Remarketing, and it gets my dander up like nothing else!

...and yet, I know that for many products, it works really well. :(

I'll try your suggestion about the freebie. As for Magento...I seriously don't see anyone saying they want it back. The old store had issues now and then, but never as much and as prevalent as this. And this is software they said they tested and it all worked perfectly. It hasn't worked perfectly since the day it was launched! Near perfect would be a treat! Please remember, they complained about the old site, and the fact that they didn't want to be doing any more custom coding, because that is what gave them so much trouble. Ten months later almost, and I venture to say that there's so much custom coding that it's almost looking like the old site. And in the mean time, we've lost features that I'm sure we'll never get back "because the software doesn't support it."

Dana, you too can become an obsessive cheese grater collector.
Plus a Beagle update drop: I tried to incorporate your suggestions by making the hair longer, and making it lie flatter against the skin. I also found out what was causing the extra sheen and toned it down. I played around with some of the settings to get the hair to look more like fur and reposed the tail. And moved the dog so the light pole doesn't stick out of his head.

What was the sheen? With LAMH backlight/no shadows makes the frizzy bits pop but that's not a real useful setup most of the time:

There is a setting in the Garibaldi Editor called "salting" that throws random white hairs in. I had it on by mistake.

Well, no surgery for me,, for the near future. Given that I'm still paying off $2000 for the toe amputation, after an energetic discussion with the doctor and the finance lady (read: argument) I decided that I'd pay off the current debt before incurring any more, since the injury is neither life-threatening or limb-threatening.

Eventually it would be GOOD to have it done, but I'm going to save up the money FIRST so I can just pay for the whole darn thing without ending up with another two years of medical payments. :bug: :bug:

So I'm going to work, work work, and bank bank bank, as much money as possible in the next few months find an affordable place to live, and hobble around in the medical boot for 4 to 6 more weeks while the break heals itself up a bit.

Wugh, I'm dead tired from lack of sleep due to stress. This is one major PITA off my back since it would have also taken me out of work for a week, costing me ANOTHER $1200 on top of the medical bills! :ahhh: :ahhh: :ahhh: :ahhh: That's a whole months rent at my temp spac! :gulp: :bug:

Hopes you are not in pain while you wait :)

No pain, just a mild stiffness. I'm in decent shape! :)

May be the stomach virus that everyone around here (East Tennessee) has had.
Symptoms: Suddenly and without any warning, everything inside you will spew out immediately. My nausea lasted 24 hours. Some people with weaker immune systems have had to be hospitalized for several days. If you have this, I hope yours is mild.

Slept nearly all day yesterday. I feel much better this morning, first coffee since night before last. Still a little weak, but more coffee will help that.

The on advantage to having neuropathy in my feet (nerve damage) is that I have zero pain. You can literally stick a needle in my foot and I won't feel it. :bug: The downside is, of course, having to keep an eye on my feet to make sure nothing has gone wrong, because I don't feel it if it does. :-S

Stop wussing and toss 150K-200K at it. Speaking as someone who did that in beta testing. ;) Remember that human head has 90K-120K hair alone.

Seriously, though -- you need more hair on that beast. Also, pay attention to root and tip thickness.

Ugh, head hurts. Code, code, code, doing writing lessons, reading books on character and scenery development, reading killer book on the mythology of Quetzalcoatl (Meso-American deity), reading some Raymond Chandler, more coding, yet more coding..

..finally it's lunch time and I have an annoying headache.

I rate it a "meh" day. :blank:
