Good idea - $2 day pass! :)

    Kyoto Kid said:

...and give it a transit ticket so it doesn't have to walk all the way.

    ...2$? What a deal

A Day ticket here costs 5$!

A one way fare with (hopefully*) a 2 hr transfer is 2.50$.

...and more bus service reductions are in the cards.

*Today I was "shorted" by a half hour & feared I would have to pay a second fare to get all the way home. This has occurred in the past.

Well, that blows! Day pass here is $2, 30 day pass is $30.. best transit deal in the country, I think.

    Bus cuts, feh. Feh. FEH!

...yeah, our commission is head over heels gaga in love with Light Rail. I feel we are living the Simpson's Monorail" episode, where the flim-flam man comes to Springfield and sells them on a monorail line telling them they aren't a "real city" unless they have one.

A monthly pass is 100$. I can't afford that kind of outlay at the beginning of the month with rent and other bills also due. I have to use ticket books to spread the cost out to fit my budget which is both more expensive in the long run and more limited. They used to have a seven day pass where you scratched off (like on a lottery ticket) the dates it was to be valid for, but like anything simple, useful, and economical, they discontinued it. The new version can only be purchased at an automated ticket machine which are only located at light rail stations (none near where I live without going out of my way), and are instantly activated at time of purchase. You can't buy one in advance (like with the old ones) unless you don't mind losing one day's use.

They continually make it more complicated, discouraging, and inconvenient to ride the bus and are under the delusion that will attract more to want to use the system.

They also recently raised the minimum age for senior fares from 61 to 64 (yeah I was "that close" to finally getting a break). It used to be 55 when I first moved here.

I'm In Love With Light Rail! (The Musical) (Finale)

    I'm head over heels
    In love with light rail,
I'm in love, I'm in love
    With light rail!

    There's no better commute
When I put on my suit
    And travel the tracks
    To my job!

    It's ever so neat
When I grab a good seat
    And catch up on
    Yesterday's news!

    'Cause I'm head over heels
    In love with light rail,
I'm in love, I'm in love
    With light rail!

(Musical Interlude with tap-dancing that sounds like a train on the tracks)

At the end of the day
    I rush all the way,
    Just to get on aboard
    And go home!

    And the clickety-clack
As we roll down the track
    Always puts a big smile
    On my face!

    I'm head over heels
    In love with light rail,
I'm in love, I'm in love
    With light rail!

(He is joined onstage by a host of people dressed in business suits, dancing and singing in the big ending)

    We're head over heels
    In love with light rail,
We're in love, we're in love
    With light rail!

    Oh you never can fail
When you travel by rail! (hold on last note)

We're in love, we're in love
    With light rail!

    (Curtain)
...yep, the theme song of my transit system. I have to send that to them.

...[in my best spoiled princess voice] "Buses are so yesterday and so boring. Like gag me with a transfer already, where's that sleek multi-billion dollar light rail train daddy promised me?"

i don't feel like doing any work today. do i have a choice? need to pick up lottery ticket.

    ...did that this morning.

With how tenuous things seem for me at my workplace, I need a retirement plan. I am sick of my 2+ hour each way multi-bus commute everyday, dealing with crowds and people I don't wish to communicate with. Standing around in the rain for fifteen to twenty minutes (several times a day) because the transit system is too cheap to put up any shelters and they keep reducing schedules so the waiting time for connections becomes ever longer. Sick of paying ever higher ransom like fares for dwindling service.

    I need a bleedin' break.

I had an idea of a drake "stealing" someone's bed and refusing to give it up for a looong time now, but only just now sketched it. I drew this up in... I think about 7 ~ 10 minutes and no references used (Even for the drake surprisingly).

Originally I had a blue drake in mind, but I have no idea how to draw 'em so I opted for an even cuter Netherdrake. Actually, I've never drawn one of them either XD (Without references. I do have one drawing of a netherdrakey in my gallery)

So, this drake is all cranky that someone barged into the room and woke him up. I don't think he's too keen on relinquishing "his" bed either. Approach this guy with caution XD

It's Friday, Friday, and you've gotta get down on Friday! (Rebecca Black flashback)

Off and on drizzle, and I left my umbrella at home (ugh). Warmish, so it's not as bad as it could be.

Have to go to the bank after work, then to my room - sometime soon it's a Walmart run to put money on the prepaid card. Not a rush.

My Red Room site is getting more traffic, I must be doing something write (lol)!! :bug: Have to keep blogging and writing!

My breakfast taco got cold and my diet Coke got warm. Meh. :-S :-S And microwaving a tortilla is a sure way to produce alien life forms! :ahhh:

    Back to reading manuals.. ugh..

Winter *@$!ing winterland out there! My arborvitae trees are bent over again. I went out at 1:30 am to whack the snow off. It looks like there's even more snow on them now than there was at that time! The next town over was reported as having 15 inches already, on the Boston Fox 25 channel. Still windy, still snowing hard. Diane is wanting to go to work...in Newport! That's normally a 45 minute drive. I don't know what the road conditions are. They haven't even plowed our street yet.

    Meh!

Thanks, Wooly! I just looked out the window, and I have to go out there and try to clear some snow off those trees again. But I'm not going to shovel anything yet. After that, I'm going to have something to eat and watch something on TV. Then maybe I'll do some work on my website.

I uploaded some pages before I went to bed last night (OK, this morning) and something didn't work right, so now I have to figure out what the hell I did wrong.

watching firefly episodes. the Safe episode ended with them eating together at the common room table. realized it makes me smile, the simple happy scenes.

then started comparing to gilligan's island. if Inara is Ginger and Kaylee is Maryann, who would River be?

Yes, this stuff is really heavy. Just spent several hours shoveling. Not sleepy tired, but physically exhausted. And when I came in the house, it was still snowing. So tomorrow I'll have to shovel some more. I think we probably got close to 24 inches. There are drifts again, all along the fence in my back yard. Some look to be three feet deep! Tuesday it is supposed to be in the 50s (F). Crazy.

Pizza is in the oven, so I'll be off watching TV with Diane in a little bit.

The artificial snow made to ski on is kind of light and kinda fluffy and doesn't last long. I guess that is completely different.
