Aaaaand another!
Here's a couple of images I made to pass the time:
A couple of pics from a strip I made which is here in full: http://moody-by-name.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/the-dragon-of-crowbrook_1.html
Been practising with filters for black and white effects:
Still messing around with filters:
Here is part of an Iron Man 3 parody I put on my blog (the full version is here - beware swearing - http://moody-by-name.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/iron-man-3-why-avengers-arent-helping.html
I'm thoroughly enjoying these, Steve. Please keep 'em coming!
you work looks great but if i can offer a word of constructive criticism your word balloons could use some adjustments.
This is for users of Illustrator, but the concepts of space between the balloon, the lettering, where to put the stems is all the same.

Constructive criticism is always welcome, thanks.
The balloons don't always work out as I'd like, I must admit. At he moment I use PowerPoint to trim the pictures and add the dialogue, because it's quick and easy.
Thanks for the link. In the strip I'm doing at the moment, I'll give a bit more time to the balloons, although PowerPoint isn't ideally suited to the purpose.
I'm working on a sci-fi strip, here are a few panels.
Here's a couple of pics I did while messing around with filters and lights:
Been trying something different - single panel comics:
This is the kind of render work I enjoy viewing the most. Nice job!
Nice collection of web comics. hope you keep em coming:)
Been doing more single panel comics. Not much postwork as usual, apart from filters.
I can't stop laughing!! This is really funny stuff!! Great Job!
Aaaand another!
Improperly paid timesheets! Art imitates Life!!
Great work, I like your humor and had a good laugh going through them
Another pic. Used DS4.0 then used a couple of filters.
Definitely like these humorous single panels.
Love the Space Mercs (#18) one, and your messing around with filters and lights (#12) (great expressions!).
Fly posting has been illegal? Since when!!??
As far as I know fly-posting is illegal if you do it on someone else's property without permission. Well, that's what it said on the interweb, so it must be true!
And here's another comic:
Latest pics. Not added captions yet.
Nice to see your work progressing.
If I may make a couple of constructive comments:
1. Consider rendering out the individual elements as .png files and assembling in a 2D package like GIMP or Photoshop. It gives you SO much more control.
2. Photoshop's "Dodge" "Burn" and "Sponge" tools can really make a render pop.
3. Motion blur on moving elements of a scene really brings panels to life.
All in all, it's really clear how your work is progressing. Looking forward to what you do next.
Best,
Tony Bruno

Thanks for your comments.
I know quite a few people on this forum use GIMP, and I'll probably get around to downloading it myself one day (assuming it's still free!). At the moment I use a program called TwistedBrush, but I only use the filters, i haven't explored it in detail. It has a blur function which I'll look into, as a lot of my pictures are "action" shots.
Still got lots to learn!
Cheers.
Now with captions, for extra captioney goodness!
Here's another - whoop-De-doo!
Been practising with filters and stuff.
