Because they never release the male and female figures concurrently. It'll probably be at least a couple of months before he makes an appearence.

Because the male figure has almost always been 3-6 months behind the female one.

I'm hoping we're lucky and he shows up in October.  Failing that, I'd expect him by Christmas.

The female set typically doesn't just generate the most sales, but is probably used for bug-testing feedback, which then might get implemented into the male version before release.

I'm hoping he shows up at a great discount during a big sale like the PA Festival, the PC sale, or something like last year's Holiday sale

  • I am hoping M8 brings in a free M6 and M7 the way V8 did.

In the past, male figures have been developed from the female figures. Hence why Genesis 2 male was somewhat chesty.

Traditionally Michael 8 comes out in the late fall. 3-4 months after the female release.

    - My impression is that after a Genesis 8 Female (G8F) release it may be to late to make any drastic major changes to Genesis 8 Male (G8M).

Holding G8M back for some potential minor bug fixes does not seem crucial.

    - - -

    - Just releasing G8M with head, body morphs and expressions would be enough to start the new male generation

In combination with compatible G3M skins users would allready be able to dial spin male characters.

A full Michael 8 Pro bundle could still be released at a more conveniant later time.

    - - -

    - A long delay between G8F and  G8M may increase the risk that less male content is released.

After G8F is released customers expect G8M and some may be more reluctant to spend money on the previous G3 generation.

(3rd party) artists may anticipate this behavior and may wait with creating male content until G8M is released.

But if they did that, then they wouldn't be able to churn out a dozen scantially clad female characters, which apparently sell like hotcakes. And then in the same breath say that, well male stuff just doesn't sell, and we can't for the life of us figure out why? laugh

Is this implying something in general about bugs in females?  surprise The Bible says than man came first.  Was that to work the bugs out before gening up a female? If so, I'm not sure it worked for either species. devil

I would take it as the figure being started from scratch once G8F was finished. I said in another thread that considering that males get less support than females, there's value in waiting until the get the kinks worked out in the female and those observations are passed into the male... as vendors will address any flaws in the females with products and none will get done with the males. I would be patient and let them get it right and not rush through development.

Also I would think M8 pays for the develpment for G8M so I would keep that in mind as well.

Even if G8M is ready, they aren't going to want to release it without content for sale. Even if the content was ready, releasing the full M8 launch party hardly seems fair to the vendors a well it two after people were being encouraged to spend money on V8. Some people may actually want both, shockingly, and releasing them too close together could hurt sales for the second one.
  • I look forward to the Genesis 8 Male but like the idea that the release of the female gives time to work out the bugs.  I have no interest in V8 so I will assume that for the next few months they will flood the market with add ons for V8. Then they will release the Male version and pretty much do the same thing.    Since this is the big push for V8 my credit cards are getting a much needed rest.

Haha! Exactly what I was thinking. Pretty disappointed (so far) with the 8 female. Waay to masculine for my liking but will be interested to see what the developers do to enhance.

You're acting like Victoria 8 is still the only game in town. She's not. She's now just one in a long line of female bases, so something more to your liking is bound to come along.

Technically the V8 morph that people say is too masculine
is just a  character, this is the free "base" default face

while I have my own animation related reasons for
skipping Genesis 8 the one single "V8 "morph  is not a factor.

I really like the base G8F.  V8 is a bit on the masculine side...still a good character, just not what I consider a successor for Victoria.  Of course, I felt the same about Aiko 7.  She went from being an anime style teenish character to just a sort of exaggerated realistic female.  I guess it's a lot like the car companies do...just retain the name even if the model is entirely different.

Masculine claim again? LOL, maybe they will rename Michael 8 to Victor 8 just to be sure.

It bugs me when they release the male figures so much later, because not nearly as much content gets released for him, before Daz up and releases the next new figure lineup.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if we see Michael sooner rather than later. They just had a big all male content sale. Maybe we will see Michael 8 soon?

I think you missed my point.  But, yours is well taken.  In your render, she does look more like the old Aiko.  However, in most of the promo renders, she just looks like a somewhat stylized figure - more on the realistic side than the obviously anime style of Aiko 4.

As for releasing G8M during the PA Sale... As a PA, I hope not!
