Amongst the featured items there is the PC annual membership - LOL
Do you think you can get 50% off of that?

    LOL!

    Emiko for A4 and A5 $8.31
    Platinum Club Annual Membership $69.97
    Subtotal $78.28
    Discount -$27.95
    Grand Total $50.33

If I cart the PC Membership + a MM item it's calculating $99.95 less 50% less 10% MM Bonus discount on the PC Membership, for an out the door price of: $44.98

Well when prices are around the !$20-$30 mark (after discount)!,adding that second item becomes a pretty big deal.
Two items I was really interested in, just can't be done with this buy two get the discount schematic.
No sale from my little corner.

    Greetings,
Yes, the Platinum Club annual membership is actually part of the discount today. If you put it in a cart, you get 55% off of it. (It's treated as a PA item, because PC members don't get additional 30% discounts on PC membership.)

I'm...very jealous of those of you who can pick that up. It's an EXCELLENT bargain; as someone who pays monthly, it'd save me almost exactly 50% on my yearly PC membership cost, and MORE than pay for itself in the discount coupons alone.

It's really true that if you always keep some spare money available (keeping some powder dry) you can take advantage of situations that increase your future funds. But when you fall off that bandwagon, everything gets more expensive.

I put the PC Annual (retail price $99.95) in, along with a random PA item which was $9.95.

    $99.95 + $9.95 = $109.90 * 0.45 (55% discount) = $49.455. Amount in my cart: $49.46.

    $6 coupon every month * 12 months = $72.

Really, it's just math. If you have the dry powder, pull the trigger on that one, folks.

I'm intending to get the PC annual subscription since my current is due to expire in three weeks, but in light of what I've read of others' experiences I'm anticipating a bit of a nightmare! Am I right in saying that once purchased I will end up with two concurrent memberships? And that I will then need to cancel the first otherwise it will auto-renew in three weeks? Obviously the sensible, and expected behaviour would be that my membershiop would simply be extended by a year, but nothing much seems to be that simple around here these days! If anyone could enlighten me further in any way it would be much appreciated.

I would - if you really end up with two concurrent memberships - do nothing myself, especially not cancelling.
The only thing I would do would be contacting sales support - they are great at solving puzzles like that.

I'll definitely purchase it anyway, and see what happens! Just looking for a heads up. You're right, I should just contact support since I have a three week window before it potentially becomes a problem. As I said, one would hope that the membership would just extend like in the old days, but I don't think that's the case any more, and I will probably lose three weeks of paid membership. It's annoying, but other websites work this way too. Dreamlight for example. Or Xbox live. Actually I just noticed I need to contact support today for a refund anyway, since I just bought Keymate and Graphmate last week (silly me - should have waited!)

Incidentally if anyone else responds to this issue and I don't reply, I'm not being rude, but I have to go out for a few hours today :)

A word of warning: cancelling one of your "multiple" memberships will cancel your membership — there is only one — instantly. This can be fixed with an aaaiiieee-mail to Sales, but it can take a couple of days. Be warned that they might try to tell you you'll have to buy a full membership (not a renewal) then get a refund. So don't do that unless you really mean it.

What a way to run a railroad...

Is it definitely the case that buying a new annual membership if you already have one does not add 12 months to your subscription, but simply starts the counter over? I have 8 months left on my annual, so while I would certainly consider this deal if it did accumulate, I'm sort of guessing it's not the deal for me...

Yeah that sucks! It never used to be the case here, but I guesst hat's another one of the "features" of the new website software! Fortunately I'll only lose 3 weeks so it's still a great deal. Unfortunately I've fallen foul of this non-extension system before both at Dreamlight and Xbox Live, and I do wish companies would make the terms and limitations very clear so that one can make an informed choice beforehand. With Microsoft I'd thought I'd cover myself and contacted support to check whether my membership would extend or restart, and they, well, lied basically!

Hmm, I got an email saying that Stonemason's Forest set was still available on sale.... This is day 5, except it is not listed on the sale page. Did anyone else get this email?

The math behind the March Madness sale still has me baffled — I own the Aiko 5 Pro Bundle, Garibaldi Hair System and the Platea Epic Bundle...

I'm not seeing a 50% discount with 2 or more march madness items... it's more like an obscure 34.9% discount.

When I add two MM items that are DAZ Originals, the Discount is 34.9% off the Subtotal when viewed in the Cart.

I'm confused about the role of New Releases and Featured Items on the sales-promotions page —are these considered eligible March Madness items?

Is there any significance to items in Featured Items vs. All March Madness Items? Do you need to add two items from New Releases and Featured Items to get the additional discount for owning Aiko 5, GH and/or Platea Epic Bundle? Or are all items in the All March Madness category eligible for the additional discount?

Same here. I wanted to get a couple of things and the total came to almost $90 but I only got a $4 discount. Was hoping for at least 30 percent but...

Ah well. Guess I miss out this year. No worries.

The price that shows up on the subtotal line includes the 30% discount. The discount is the difference between the 30% discount and the 55% discount, so it should be around 36%.

I really want to understand how the DAZ store is calculating the discount for Platinum Club Members
that have purchased Aiko 5, Garibaldi Hair System, and/or the Platea Epic Bundle.

Attached is what I'm seeing in my cart:

    Classic Swimwear Genesis
    List: $14.95 - Now: $7.33 (Save 51%)

    Emiko for A4 and A5
    List: $16.95 - Now: $8.31 (Save 51%)

    Mall Girl for Genesis
    List: $19.95 - Now: $9.78 (Save 51%)

    Subtotal: $25.42
    Discount: $-8.55
    Grand Total: $16.87

    The Subtotal makes sense...
    $7.33 + $8.31 + $9.78 = $25.42

But the Discount number does not make sense...
    Discount: $-8.55

The Discount does not appear to be 36% of the subtotal of discounted products; that would be:
    $25.42 x .36 = $9.15

So how does the additional 10% off for owners of Aiko 5, Garibaldi Hair System, or Platea Epic Bundle get applied during March Madness?

If the items are listed as 51%off — wouldn't they become 61% off the list price?

    Classic Swimwear Genesis
    List: $14.95 - Now: $5.83 (Save 61%)

    Emiko for A4 and A5
    List: $16.95 - Now: $6.61 (Save 61%)

    Mall Girl for Genesis
    List: $19.95 - Now: $7.78 (Save 61%)

    Subtotal: $20.22
    Discount: ?

And how does the Platinum Club discount come into play?

When I'm logged out, Emiko is $11.87 (Save 30%).
When I'm logged in, Emiko is $8.31 (Save 51%)

The Platinum Club discount appears to be applying only 21%.

It looks like Classic Swimwear isn't getting the extra 10% discount. It's actually no longer in the March Madness category, so I'm not sure why it would get the 50% discount at all.

    .

Not exactly, if you put one of the MM items into your cart you see that it takes 10% off the sale price rather than 10% off the base price.

The automatic has gone down the drain ... that's why I prefer the classical gear shift.
    Jokes aside:
You have to buy the extension, get a no accumulation deal automatically, contact support and they are tacking the new months to the end of your membership.
I don't want to be sales support. ;)

...well day 5 is almost over (it is in Daz Time) and still haven't purchased anything. This evening the site was acting really stupid (again) so I just didn't bother (gave up after I couldn't even put the freebies in my cart without Magento errors popping up)

Along with the above, the changes, like item restrictions, coupon restrictions, and various "conditions" that now must be met to get the same discount we received in the past with no strings attached have also taken a lot of the excitement from this year's event.

It's coming down to needing something really big to happen (and it has to be something I really want) to get me to make any purchases in this year's sale.

Thanks anikad, that part makes sense... the discount amount with multiple items is where it gets weird.

Yeah. Only Kibaretto and 4Blueyes are new.

To be honest, I haven't really been moved by the 50% sales. It's just not "good enough" for me, and the new stuff mostly I can't really use for the immediate future. Though I did buy a few stuff last week, I'm not "whelmed" enough (not necessarily underwhelmed, but not totally "I've got to take advantage of this!"). Then there's the erratic and inconsistent discount.

I didn't realize that I bought more from Rendo recently (and I think their discounts are generally lackluster for the most part), which tells me something's off considering March Madness is one of the big sales pushes for DAZ every year.

IMHO, unless there's a "Platinum" sort of sale ($2.99 for categories, like last January) or that discount goes up a bit more for everyone (60 isn't at all out of the question), March Madness feels like March Mediocre.

Here's hoping the sales pick up in the remaining days of the month.
