Amazing quality. Are you using DS exclusively for your clips, minus the post-processing?
Yes, DS is enough for everything :), almost. In rare cases when motion will be used in game engine, for example, it goes through MoBu. If it just for movie clip then only DS.
Thanks. Still want to turn it into movie, one day... :)
Hmm.. I wonder why..
Well. that goes to show you that DS can be used for great animations just fine. As you and all the others here have proved so well.
And for that I thank all of you.
DAZ has the best "out of the box" characters out there, IMHO. I desperately want them to up their animation game. As it stands now, it's very, very difficult to get smooth motion.
Agreed!
I'm currently struggling to get a seamless walk-cycle for a G3M to Unity character going, and I've noticed that there aren't any walking aniblocks for G3 male characters available. Odd..
All I could find is for G3F, and that doesn't seem to work so well for a male character.
I'm smelling discrimination here! 8^)
Oh - and I forgot to mention how much I appreciate that the DAZ store gives you the option to filter content by "Animations & Poses", like those two are pretty much interchangeable anyway.
Except of course, that you'll be a couple of frames shy of a full deck when looking for an animation.
Posermocap has G3M walking animation. It ain't perfect--the character lists a bit to one side.Look for Ambient Moves Volume 1.
Thanks for the tip, but my understanding is that this collection includes walk cycles for G3F, but not G3M.
And that there are walk cycles for the earlier G2M instead, which wouldn't work well with G3M.
Is that what you mean by the figure leaning?
The rigging of the G3 Male is radically different from the earlier
genesis models.
Even using dedicated external Character motion creation apps like
motionbuilder & Iclone pro, does not help because Daz Studio
wont properly import Motion data to the G3 /G8 models.
There a re a few third party retargeting scripts for the G3 female
so technicaly one can create "masculine" motion for the g3 female
and re-use the saved motion on the G3 male as I did with this
clip
Thanks for the tip wolf359!
After struggling with this for a while I was able to get a fairly seamless cycle going in MoBu.
The MoCap had a bit too much swagger for my taste, but it looks better than the more robotic ones I have seen.
This is for Unity, but I will try to import it back into DS in case I want to render a cut scene.
