Skull Cove Complete

I purchased the 3D Universe "Skull Cove Complete" set today and have been playing around with it,
I have a couple of questions.
first I fell in love with this set when i seen it, because too me this is a environment model i will get a lot of use out of.

Okay here is my questions

1) I can not get this set to render at all in Daz4.5 , The set loads , all the lights, mat, render settings etc. all load, But when I hit render .. it gets about 2/3 done and the whole thing just crashes. I want to know if I am doing something wrong?

2) I did get this to load & render in PP2012 with no issues. In poser-fusion I was able to get the night sky-dome and lights to work as well. I also am able to import this model into Maya through poser-fusion and it renders very well.

My question is what am I doing wrong in rendering in Daz4.5 that makes the programs close.
I currently have Daz 4.5.1.6 version 64Byte should i be using a different version?
Other than that it does work great in my program of choice PP2012 any reason into why it won't render in daz4.5 would be helpful
Thanks

Renders below are build in Poser and rendered in Maya I didn't do much tweaking because its rather just testing how far i can push the limits for animation.

I don't have the set, but have you considered upgrading to Daz Pro 4.5.1.56 ? 4.5.1.6 was the previous release.

Edit: Here's the official announcement for Daz Pro 4.5.1.56 http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/14562/

I don't know why it crashed for you. I use win7-64 bit and Studio 4.5.1.56 with 12 gigs of ram.

These two I just loaded the scene, chose cameras, and hit render. Straight out of the box so I don't know what they'll look like on another machine.

I did have trouble in loading in that it said a sky jpg was missing, but it was the daylight skydome texture that the product blurb said is only for Poser but I had installed the Studio version. But I don't think I got any skydome texture at all. Haven't investigated because March Madness doesn't allow you to thoroughly check everything you got before the next Shiny! comes out. ;>

Then i should not have any trouble on my system .. win 7 -4.48 - ghz 24 gigs of ram - 4 gig graphics card. windows . The expedience index is 7,8 . I don;t think its my system maybe its the way i installed it or something. who knows I don't use daz much anymore anyways, so I thing that is maybe most of the problem. but i thought i try it out since I got installers. I primary use poser and starting to really get into Maya for rendering. large scenes. I was just wondering how to fix it from crashing on rendering

It will render with the pp2 files but it crashes with the Daz scene file in. I have no issues with the poser end of it.

Ummm that's weird .....I can load and render the DS scene, though I did use the preview render setting that's included ....... maybe I'll go see what happens if I don't use that ......

I completely reinstalled everything. The new version of daz, and all the skull cove installers and it still crashes.
I tested daz4.5 on another new set " snow and ice" I got today from FirstBattalion and it rendered like a champ. so I tried another model " Opus Magnum'" in duf and it rendered great too, really weird

Okay so I tried without useing the included render setting and while it took quite a bit longer it still rendered no problem ......wish I could've been more help ,really hope you can get this sorted out cause it's a great set .......of course my first serious render with it has to be clowns invading the Pirate cove ........I just have to work up some clown makeups and characters ......and of course pirates running in terror .........

I loaded the full scene again. It's looking for a bluesky pic for the dome but can't find it because it's looking for a TIF and the file is a JPG. I loaded another instead and swapped out in the Surfaces tab.

(I switched cameras to Camera_Dock2 and rendered. This is the first time this has ever happened to me in Studio--the render was offset to the right about half from the screen preview. Odd. And I forgot to screen cap before I closed Studio. Sorry.)

Again, no crashing but I've just been using the render settings I normally use. Have you tried not using the supplied render settings?

I'm still working on it. I can get everything load , it just won't render with out crashing for some reason.I've tried preview mode I've tried to render to file. Its got to be a bug in the way I'm installing it or something, because you all aren't having any trouble, Its properly something stupid. lol

    Your project sounds cute.

I had an error message that I was missing 3duSCSkydomeBlueSky_DF.tif.
I found the jpeg version of that file in \Runtime\Textures\3DUniverse\SkullCove\Island
I copied it to my desktop, converted it into a TIF in photoshop, then plunked it back in \Runtime\Textures\3DUniverse\SkullCove\Island. The Skull Cove (Full Set) now loads properly.
The new TIF is much larger than other DF designated TIFS in that folder, so don't know if it's an optimal solution, but it works.

Can't you post the Error section of the log here or make a bug report https://bugs.daz3d.com/ and if you have never made a bug report before here is how http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/306/ first link under the heading "Universal (multi-version or non-specific) Tutorials".

It won't me put the text file on here., But I id use a link you gave me to send the report Thanks
The set looks great , I can even get it to load in daz3aI just have to mannually put in the sky-done textures. . but when i load the duf scene file in daz4.5 its loads great , But rending a scene it makes the program closes without some much a error notice. and I'm just using default settings that came with the set.
so far its the only set that s has given me any trouble that I have bought during the MM sale and no one else is having trouble so I must have a install glitch some where., just not sure what it is.

I seriously don't think that the misnamed skydome will have anything to do with your issue's.

To post a log, or part of, in to the forums is to select the text in the log, Ctrl (Command Mac) + C (to Copy) and Ctrl + V to paste the text in to the forum posting window. ;) Or select the text in the log and right Click, copy and then Right click and paste in the forum posting window.

This sounds weird if other with similar speced machine and lower can render the full monty then it may be A; something to do with your computer, GC drivers etc etc or B: a corrupted download or C: where you have your content installed.

I had a problem, when I first installed it, in Poser, with Poser looking for textures I didn't have. However I redownloaded and also installed the DS version into Poser as well, and after that, although there is something that Poser is still looking for it does not give a name so I told poser to stop looking and after that I could work with it. However as I was taling it into Bryce I didn't use the skydome.

I have added some extra "ground" to the Island and finished my render in Bryce now, and postworked it slightly.

I don;t have any issue loading and setting up the product.. just when it comes time to render it .. the whole program shuts down.

I don't have any problem loading or rendering poser cholole, and yes i just tell Poser to stop looking for the .obz files. as well But I get that sometimes as well with other products.

I can get Pirate cove to load in Daz 4.5 and set all the scene files. but as soon as i try to render the scene the daz programs closes down. no error message or nothing. its the only product i have come across so far when i use daz4.5 that crashes it.

I'm still confused about exactly WHAT you're loading into Studio. Are you loading up the whole thing in one go? That's what we in Studio have been testing. Or are you loading separate parts to make the whole scene? You say you load it and set all the scene files..what does that mean?

If you're merging parts one after another then it's possible there's something in just one part that's different from loading the whole scene in one operation. Are you loading from the install into Studio or the install into poser? Did you install into both places or just Poser?

This is why I mentioned the specific file my load was asking for. You've been vague on that I just want to know if we're even loading up the same thing.

I recently bought this set the "pirate cover complete" http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/skull-cove-complete
In this set there is a scene file in DUF for Daz4.5 in the props file under 3d universe, that is suppose to load the complete set at once including lights and cameras into Daz4.5 which it does load the complete scene . I can even change the sky-domes mats and water mats... But the issue i am having is when i go to render a scene made with this file its gets 2/3 thirds through the render and poof its closes no error message nothing its just crashes..lol

Now I can load everything from the poser scene files into daz4.5 as long as I don't use any of the duf scene files it won't crash on render
I can load and render this set in poser pro 2012 with no issues. The problem i am having is the Daz4.5 -duf scene file that loads the set completely as it comes in the installer won't the render the completed scene in my copy of daz4.5 which i have I posted the log file

But like i said the poser load scene file works . I was just wondering what I was doing wrong with the daz load complete scene file that makes it crashing on render. this is the only product i gotten in MM sale that I have this issue with, I have not mixing any other sets or models or even loading any figures into the scene I trying to getting to work before i go any farther

Thank you for the reply :)

Nothing stands out in the log you posted as it seems a clean fresh starting log. I doubt with that type of no warning crash you would find much in the log anyway.

Unless anyone else has any ideas all I can say is see what the tech dept can make of it.
