Can you post a screen shot of your advanced render settings please?
My issue with Skull Cove Complete is that I can't figure out how to get the water to look right.
I'm happy too :) also right after I took this snippet I hit the render button and the programs crashed
Hey Gerald,
Don't know how you're rendering, but with full scene loaded (skybox included) in DS, if I render at quality 4 (3delight) I get water texture, if less, I don't.
Ivy,
Hope you're having more luck. I know the missing skydome file wasn't your issue, but just wanted to confirm that things are rendering okay for me in DS, so I guess something in your specific installation is wonky. Good luck!
Thanks for the clarification of what you loaded, Ivy. The screenshot above the render settings you showed is the exact one I rendered from and had no trouble. The only difference being that for that one I had no texture on the skydome, it was black. And now I remember I loaded the night lights and then rendered.
After seeing this thread I loaded the duf again, applied a texture to the skydome, didn't add lights, changed camera and rendered.
No problems with crashing but the rendered scene didn't match the camera view. Very odd.
Edited to add: Your render settings look fine. I didn't click on either option just used the render settings I normally use which only differ from yours in pixel and shadow samples and I use a lower shading rate.
Are you using DS or Poser??
I noticed another bug today when working with pirate cove when I load the Dson/ds scene & the poser PP2 scene file, the pirate ship that loads from preset scene file sails won't fold or billow & neither does the flags. But if delete ship & reload it from the poser props file the ships sails work. fine. Just I thought i pass that bit of info along as well

I'm using DS 4.5 Pro and the render is set on 3Delight(4)
I had noticed that too.
I'm using DS 4.5 Pro and the render is set on 3Delight(4)
So have you used the water shaders that are included??? You have to click on skull island in the scene tab then go to the Surface tab open up Skull island scroll down to where it says water and then click on the shader .

....scroll to where it says water.--- where is the water supposed to be? It's not within the surfaces tab.
Okay. I tested something. When I load the Skull Cove Island from the smart content/Envirenments/architecture/landscape I get the the sea texture, but I don't get it when i loand the Skull Cove Island from the content library/Poser formats
i still haven't been able to render in daz 4.5 yet. it keeps crashes
But these are a few test scenes in poser , I have 5 characters in this scene , I changed out the water to a water-pane I can morph and add waves with, , I wanted to see how it looks animated. and I did the 5 point day lights myself and added one HDR light, and turn the "cast shadows" button off on the sky-dome. and added a spot light over the characters for rendering shadows, it took about 20 seconds to render each scene.
using this set in poser the set is very cute :) I can't wait to see what kind of characters & accessories 3D universe comes up with to go with this ( hint hint).

My bad I should have said Sea level ,sea level= water ......that's what I get for going from memory ........When you use the Poser props the material setting are set up for Poser and don't work/look right in DS ......
I'm still having no luck to get this set to render in daz4.5 , last night i uninstalled the daz program reset my download and reinstalled the daz4.5 program. and I still have no luck. to why this crashes on render. I have tried a few other big sets and haven't had any trouble.. but for some reason when i go to render this set .. its gets about 2/3 done and poofs the programs closes or crashes no error message no nothing.. the reason I ask is because I would like to use the night scene that came with this set because it does not load in poser. and having to set up all the points of lights for the lamps takes forever to set up by hand. I tried to FXB the loaded night scene into Maya but it does not export the lights just the models set. I am wondring if having my content folder on another drive may have anything to do with the rendering crash of this set. though I don;t seem to have this issue with other big sets
so I'm trying to figure out if there is a bug in the lights or is it the install or the content folder . I have tried about a half a dozen times to uninstall and reinstall both the model set and the program to no avail. This wouldn't be a big deal if i could get the night light set to work in poser. anyone have any ideas on what this issue could be? I posted log file and render settings in the beginning of this thread .
any input would be helpful I have tried everything i know to fix it.
I don't know if this is related, but I am also having issues with Skull Cove Complete.
When trying to use the "Skull Cove (Full Set)" I receive the following error:
Could not find file: ...\3duSCSkydomeBlueSky_DF.tif
I opened a ticket and a week later I was told that "there are five installers." "Redownload and reinstall."
Not really applicable a solution, since I used DIM to install.
Probably just going to end up returning the item for a refund. Haven't really decided yet.
EDIT: Just noticed in an earlier message that other people were having the same problem. I will just wait and see if support has a solution.
Hi all,
It seems that the 3duSCSkydomeBlueSky_DF.tif file was left out of the Skull Cove Complete installer for some reason. I have alerted DAZ to this issue, and have requested that the installer be updated.
In the mean time, you can download this missing file here: Download Missing TIF file
Once downloaded and extracted, please place the .tif file in the "Runtime>Textures>3DUniverse>SkullCove>Island" folder.
All the best,
Steve
Both the DAZ Studio version and Poser version of the product use program specific shaders for the water. DAZ Studio shaders do not work in Poser and Poser Shaders do not work in DAZ Studio. You have to load the correct version in the correct program.
cheers,
Steve
Hi Ivy,
Have you tried building up the full scene step by step? That way, you can establish at which point DAZ Studio is have an issue...
I'd suggest building up the scene in the following order, testing a render after each additional item is loaded:
1. Skull Cove Island (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Skull Cove Setup")
2. Sky Dome - Blue Sky (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Island Lighting")
3. Skull Cove Dock (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Skull Cove Setup")
4. Dock Vegetation (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Skull Cove Setup")
5. Building 04 Base (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Skull Cove Setup")
6. 10 Buildings (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Buildings"). These will load in the zeroed position, select each building and set the "Position Building" morph to "1" to put it into the correct place.
7. Building Lanterns (Day) (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Skull Cove Setup")
8. Building Extras (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Skull Cove Setup")
9. Building Animals (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Skull Cove Setup")
This will basically give you the full Skull Cove scene excluding the preset cameras. Let me know at which point DAZ Studio chokes.
cheers,
Steve

Thank you for replying back
I tried as you suggested this morning these are my results.
I loaded the Skull Cove Island (found in "Scenes > 3D Universe > Skull Cove > Skull Cove Setup") and try to render it, it got 2/3done and poof it crashed the daz program
Next I tried to load the sky-done by it self. and I got a error message which I am posting for you to see.
This is the first time i have I have finely got a error message. after this error message , I did not try to load the set any farther.
what is funny y is I have no problems at all with this set in poser.and I can even load he poser files into daz 3 with no issues .. it appears the only problem i and getting with daz4 is not on loading the files or setting them up . But just the rendering of the scenes after set up.
anyway here is the picture of the error message i got this morning.
Thanks for the help

Could I ask you to submit a bug report to DAZ as described on the error screen. This issue seems to be a localized issue with the Delight renderer on your PC. Only Daz themselves would be able to find out what is causing the issue.

Steve
