Great tip for Reality renders. I have tried myself rendering in Reality 2 yesterday, but only with the default material settings,
so the close up render did not come up so good.
How are you dealing in Reality with eyelashes, eyebrows and the hair?
Never had any problem with eyebrows or hair but I do adjust materials been using it since late feb approx 8 or 900 renders I guess its just like second nature now. On the other side DS is really pissing me off. Alot of clothing that worked with the auto fit now dont. It would be too complicated to go back to 4.37 at this point..
Reality works nice to for making PNG effect renders FX
Thanks for the explanation, Bobvan. It looks like I have to make a lot of renders with Reality, to get a better results,
but it will happen probably, if I get some faster computer.
Its interesting what happens with adjusting and experience when I started renders used to take days or hours now take less then 1/2 hour or a few hours mind you I also grew more patience. One nice feature is queue rendering I line up 5 or 6 in 2 or 3 hour sequence and let er rip! Unlike 3Dkight most times you can see what or will not work within minutes
Point
Run!
The other great feature is converting objects to light I bakes 27 renders in 3 to 4 days Fx 2
Since I bring back V4.1 Kayleigh in my mind, I have rendered her in Daz Studio 4.5.1.6 Pro
with the light set from the SkiesOfEconomy, preset SoE-Sunset8. Also used Pretty3D Pussycat clothes and 3D-Age Cats mask.
I have increased the shading rate to 0.15, but the rendered image get more noise.
I have to edit Kayleigh materials though. That character was made for Daz Studio 1.7.1.5 or higher and Poser 6.
Rendering time was around 23 minutes. Click the image to see it enlarged.
Cool
There is nothing wrong with UE here is some UE stuff from the past (click on links for large file) My use of Halle Berry

Great images, Bobvan. I especially like the space one.
Thanks I was just showing that 3Delight does work to produce 1/2 decent stuff but there's just stuff I can do with LUX that I cannot do with 3Delight. Lighting is also alot more effective with LUX

We don't have auto fit in Poser at all, short of new Genesis clothing nothing else will fit.
CHEERS!
Great renders by the way, I didn't scroll down!
CHEERS!
Thanks more Trek Bridge

Old Enterprise
Very nice,
I take it the last one was done with Lux?
I have the Enterprise from the new movie somewhere, I have a render...
CHEERS!
That made me remember something,
I also had the Discovery from 2001, this was done in DS before I even had Poser, as far as I can recall it took several hours to render as that ship is enormous!
CHEERS!
No all the trek stuff is 3Dlight (prior to strating to use Lux this is enterprise in Lux Ent
Oh, I see,
Cool background then.
As you can see, I used the same background for both of mine!
CHEERS!
Yes the 3Dlight ships are rendered on their own and photoshopped
Yeah, I used to scan photos of the original ILM models and composite them in photoshop.
CHEERS!
Very nice images and the Old Enterprise is very well composed.
...the exterior scenes and composition all look good but I still am not thrilled by the skin tone in Lux. It just looks too "flat". This has always been a sticking point for me with Lux. I'm sure this is curable with a lot of tweaking of the surfaces as well as using SSS (which is a real memory hog) and AO,
For portraits and close ups, I prefer look of Firefly engine renders with the various lighting and surface enhancements the best.
Rogerbee, which basic lighting & surface plugins are the best to get started with?
I know my characters are "dollish" looking but I like it for a nicely detailed comic like story
For Kyoto some of my past LDP2 renders http://fav.me/d3b5ci2 http://fav.me/d3b5fur http://fav.me/d3bj2ow
...nice, as I mentioned I still like the feel LDP gives to scenes
For a comic the flatter skin tones are actually good as you will be doing a lot of renders, and spending a day or more waiting for SSS, IBL and AO calculations would definitely put a crimp in the production schedule.
However, even in single scenes I've seen that were rendered with Lux by various artists, the skin tones still look a bit flat and "pasty" to me, compared to even 3Delight and Firefly. Admittedly I do not use SSS or AO in 3Delight as on my old rig that's a quick trip to a rendering crash. Meanwhile, in Firefly I can use both though SSS as long as the scene is not too "busy".
