When I was still using DS engine for rendering I ran comparisons on the same renders with the shading rate set at 0.20 and 0.10 the only diff I saw was a lot longer with it set at 0.10 no difference whatsoever on the quality of the render.

The difference in the second render is the eye materials from Actual Eyes 3 for Genesis (currently 50% off)
    http://www.daz3d.com/shop/actual-eyes-3
Used presets: Colors AE-1 and Reflection-3
In both renders, I have used lights from Lantios Core Lighting 1 preset 04.

Thanks for letting me know. The renders times were around 49 minutes on intel i7 860 processor at 2.8 GHz..

Nice, but that's DS, the issue lies in Poser. You can make adjustments that we can't.

What was done to the sclera? If they ever DSON those eyes I'll see what they can do in Poser..

    CHEERS!

PS (Even with the UberEnvironment light and IDL the renders I did took about 15 mins each maybe less.)

It looks like material for sclera was simplified (less options in surface tab). Opacity map was taken away.
Diffuse and displacement map were changed. Added environment map for reflections.
I also like the speed of Poser rendering. ;-)

    Yeah, there you go,

You can add things that we can't. This is why Elite Eyes is still a viable option. One difference that I did notice that has nothing to do with the eyes themselves is that the eyebrows on yours have the same bump map as the skin and look like they were drawn on. EZ Skin's procedural bump maps omit the eyebrows which leave them looking like the original reference photo. Why they still do the bump maps like the ones on your S5 is beyond me.

    CHEERS!

    Nice renders Bob,

I take it you're using Genesis, what does Lux do with the eye shaders!? Does it compensate for the lack of the eye surface? All of the promos I saw for Reality used Gen 4.

On another note, Daz always seem to have the best sales when I can't afford to make use of them. S5 is currently half price, BUT, I can't afford her till Wednesday when she'll be full price again. GRRRRRR!!!

Genesis and V4 I set the eyes as per the Reality setting to glass

Cool, I'd like to see some close ups.

    Look who I found:

SUMMER GLAU!!!! And 1000 times better than any of my attempts! Where was she hiding!? I dunno, just when I thought I was done with V4/S4! I'll have to inject them for this. AT LAST!!!

Yeah it does seem as though Reality makes that easier.

Great tip for Reality renders. I have tried myself rendering in Reality 2 yesterday, but only with the default material settings,
so the close up render did not come up so good.
How are you dealing in Reality with eyelashes, eyebrows and the hair?

This vendor was previously selling his products on Renderosity as Jochen38.
I have bought his Kayleigh for V4.1 there 4 years ago.
Sun V4.2 looks a bit different to me than Summer Glau while smiling on the top left photo at:
    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1132359/
    Anyhow, great find.

Been a while since I posted anything, I totally forget where this texture for M4 came from, additional homebrew displacement and shader. Um, brain not working so well tonight :)

Very well done. Only the shirt ruins the overall effect in my opinion, but the character is excellent.

Yeah, that was where I got his Candice from.

I'd have to make Sun smile like that to really see how good she looks, thing is though, I'd primarily render her as River or Cameron and neither of them smiled that much. Whatever, she's way better than my 10 attempts! That said, she could be a jumping off point for another, but for my use only!

    Nice!

There's a sort of General Hammond from Stargate SG1 vibe about him.
