Dramatic film response
Nice, so, what do you do while you're waiting for Reality to do its thing!? I hear renders can take several hours!
CHEERS!
Yeah Im kinda used to it some take hours some take 10 to 15 minutes takes longer to complete stories
The nice feature is you can initiate 5 to 6 renders and then let them bake or queue render them overnight
Well, when Pret finally get their act together, I'll have that fun to come!
CHEERS!
I tried Look At Me eyes again, and they don't work well with IDL, and they have an extra node in the corneal reflection which they don't need. Then, I thought I'd found some great reflections, only to find that they were for the eye surface, which of course Genesis doesn't have.
After that, I decided to see if I could do anything with other eye textures I had, and I found something that worked! I took eye surface reflection maps and plugged them into the cornea and added a transmap to them. The main textures are from the old Gen 4 Eye Maps pack and the transmap came from Vykhtoria's Auria.
Below is the result...
CHEERS!
Rogerbee you are such an inspiration for me! I've been following this thread since you started it and I've been working hard to actually have something to post here :) Stunning work :cheese:
Thank you,
That really means a lot. I can't put my finger on why, but, I seem to have an affinity with Poser. If something doesn't work, I rack my brain to work out why and, somehow, a solution presents itself. It was in the early hours of the morning that I worked out the eyes!
This guy below really is a culmination of stuff I've learned, he's Smay's Last Gladiator (Yesterday's Fast Grab.) but updated for M5 with EZ Skin 2 and my custom eyes. One thing to remember with this texture is to remember to tell EZ Skin not to remove displacement maps as it's those that give him his unique look.
Enjoy
CHEERS!
PS (With more tweaking and the right hair he could be turned into Theocoles from Spartacus: Blood and Sand.)
Here is another variation with the eyes, different iris and cornea transmap. I think I'll save a few of these to my Materials library!
CHEERS!
I've added all the custom eyes to my library now, all the popular colours, and separate corneas so I can mix and match. When I find more transmaps I'll add them as well.
Below is one for the Twilight fans...
CHEERS!
Roger for the type of just character renders with plane BG you will get some fassst Lux render times. I know your a bit of sci if buff remember sliders? I face genned 2 of the characters and am now having a land of the giants cross over with fringe & sliders...

Looking good!
I don't know if it's just my screen, but, some of those renders do look a tad dark.
I do remember Sliders, didn't that star Jerry O'Connell aka the fat kid from Stand By Me!? Your character with the Monroe hair reminds me of Barbara Bain from Space 1999. I haven't tried any celeb lookalikes on Genesis yet.
I did, however, get the Creature Creator bundle and the Man Wolf. I'd always wanted to do my own werewolf and those gave me the tools and textures I needed. The result is entirely dial spun, and I LOVE IT!!!
CHEERS!
Thats because its nightime. The head Morphed character is Jerry O Connol.. Your probably not looking at them full size you need to click on the names to open the full size on my D/A page
LOL! DOH! Yeah that would explain it.
I was right about Jerry. I had a look through Daz, and, although they give you morphs to create all these creatures they don't seem to give you many textures to work with.
CHEERS!
Yeah I know this is why I used some free orion star trek textures when I had created the "toilet rats" Toilet rats
Interesting,
I suppose I could change the colours of a few of them. If you use the Variations in Photoshop and play with the Material Room you might be able to do something.
CHEERS!
We dont have a material room in DS I still have to get around to normal maps maybe.... Due to still making large stories it would become even more time consuming. I am pretty satisfied with the jump in quality I get from Lux
I didn't know you could use normal maps in DS. As for colours you can do it with shaders in DS, at least that's how I think you did it, it's been a while. I haven't touched DS since 2.3!
CHEERS!
They work well with Reality there is a place for normal maps wait till you use lux the film response and lighting are reaaaallly responsive in comparison..
Easy Skin 2 works well on the older characters, like Aiko 3, as well.
Below are the renders of Aiko 3 with morphs and textures from 3D Arena Gina for Aiko3.
Also used Lotus Hair and DTW DClassy cloth. Click each of the images to see them enlarged.
@ Bob:
Sooner or later I'll find out, just waiting for the announcement.
@Artini:
Indeed it does, I only raid Gen 4 for textures, I'm using Genesis and Gen 5 for everything else.
CHEERS!
I'm surprised nobody noticed, but, things had gone awry with the tongue on my werewolf, so, I fixed that then locked its actors and did the same for the head and lower jaw. There's nothing worse than having a really cool expression, only to lose it when you change the pose. I don't mind a fixed expression, after all, it;s a werewolf and what else would a werewolf do!?
I also altered the proportions of the body and scaled the whole thing up so it's really big and menacing. All in all this is definitely one of the coolest creatures I've made from the base M5. Mind you, it wouldn't have been possible at all without the Man Wolf, so a big thanks to RawArt for that!
Here he is below, beware the moon....
CHEERS!
