Or one can render the scene in lux render the items one wants with the shaders in 3 Delight and merge them in GIMP or PS
Good work and I love the shine on her hair.
But, but, that face is to die for!
Red gummy, putting the diffuse map back in (75% strength) and single light from the rear.
Oooh, even creepier, with the normal (grayscale)map instead of the Diffuse color map.
Could someone tell me about the shader settings used on the songbird in one of the promos. how it looks with that backlight is amazing.
...downloaded both the Gummy and Toon SSS shaders. Can't wait to get home now.
Now what would a good lighting set up for something like SSS be?
I know, really vague question, but like with PWtoon, there are certain lighting setups that just get you better results, while others just look bloody terrible.
Also, what would be a good way to get a toon hair style with SSS? Yes, buying that spiffy gummy shader looks like a great option, but lets just say that someone is already tapped out on funds for new 3d goodies for the month. ^_^;
I'm having the same issue with the glass effect. its really frustrating. All i do is select zones 1,2,3 and apply the base shader and when i do a test render it looks similar to all the other glassy images posted.
You are a god among men, Age of Armour.
Wonderful shaders, Age of Armor! HSS, Plastic, Jelly and Toon -- really nice packages and a great value. Nice extras with the toon set.
My artistic skills don't measure up to most of what I've seen here, but even I can get promising results. It's encouraging.
One curious thing - A5 attached has the AoA toon skin, jelly shader in various colors applied to the hair, lips and bikini with different color groups applied. For some reason, the lips and bikini are rendering almost black. Anybody know why this might be happening?
I posted something similar a while back. I'm getting similar results when using two subsurface materials which touch. Not always, mind you, but it is a little odd. Perhaps a bug somewhere?
Case in point, I have a figurine composed entirely with the subsurface shader (plastic preset), with different colours for the details, yet the skin renders completely pitch black. Oddly enough, a close up render seems to work fine enough. It's a strange issue and I haven't yet put my finger on what actually causes it.

I've enjoyed many of your renders HoF -- you have some great ones. Now that you mention it I do recall your earlier report.
It is odd that the hair is fine but not the lips or bikini. All are presumably touching the toon skin, and are separated from each other. I'd try some more experiments and post the results, but tomorrow must go back to my day job and it is nearly 2 am where I live. Time for bed.
I'm getting the black problem as well - kinda given up on it to be honest, I prefer Ubersurface 2.
Skin is also coming out much too pink or orange tinted for my preferences.

from what i can telll, the smaller the screen area and obj that has that shader applied, the darker it is. FOr example, applying it to fiber hair makes it all black. :S
I still haven't even installed the shaders yet.
LOL hey Son :)
Thanks
What :(
That is indeed awesome.
I've installed, but not used. Will be playing later!
Thanks....how did you go ?
Still haven't installed yet, been too busy with chores to have a play. :( I am back out in the garden today and have a project that I need to finish before the end of the month. I Can't seeing me getting a play with these until next month.
Mate, you always need to make time for play, pizza and n....... :)
I tell ya, that garden had better be looking fabulous.

If this is the case it makes the shader a bit limited.
Deleted due to causing one person grief. :P
I think this has at least in parts to do with e.g. the clothing not offering much "volume" for the SSS to play with. At least if you adjust the "Shading Scale" to be lower you get the color back. For the lips I guess it depends on whether they are treated as an own "Group ID" (compared to the body) or not I suppose. If they are not the same "Group ID" then this is probably a matter of "volume" again.
Garden; judge for yourself (sorry for going OT)
Yeah, I do love nibbles :)
Mate very impressive and beautiful.....okay I let you off, no play time for you, back to work :)
Also remember that in the case of clothing like the bikini and lips, assuming the lights have shadows on, they are being front-lit only.
Could we please stay on topic I'm pretty close to returning the presets I have purchased but am still hoping to figure out where I'm going wrong. I really don't need to trawl through comments and images of peoples gardening experiences.
Thank you
What problem are you having Scorpio ?
You can e.g. adjust the "Shading Scale". The rubber presets come with a "Shading Scale" of 10 I think (at least some do), which is nice for items that actually got volume, but e.g. for thin clothes this doesn't seem to work. Whenever I did get "dark surfaces" (almost black), I primarily adjust the "Shading Scale" to be lower - for example on thin clothing I am leaning towards 0.5 - 1.
Like others I'm getting things rendering out very dark or black, also I'm trying to find a way to tone down the pinky orange tint in the skin that I'm getting with the Toon presets.
Could I get a brief run down of the lights you are using and the character too if poss.
Possibly it's your lighting Scorpio. Have you watched Slide3D's video on a light setup that's working at least with realistic skin?
