    I still need to get the toolbar set up for scripting, and to add a tab with the timeline and dynamic clothing panes for dynamics.

    I can't say it's optimal, but I keep all of the panes I use regularly tabbed on the left, the others get pushed off to the right, the animation pane is tucked away at the bottom. That gives quick access while taking the least amount of space. My DS3 layout was more or less the same, just with the tabs less conveniently crammed together on top instead of the side.
