Thanks for the new set. I'd like a Classical (Roman/Greek) audience too. But we would need three to four times as many characters for it to be a truly effective solution.

Could scripting plus billboards be combined to make a sort of paper dolls that could, for example, be used to put different heads on the same body? As a way of having fewer than 3x as many figures?

Great job, really like the new options :)

PS:  Add to the list a beach set

Yikes!  That would a truly massive set.  The only thing that makes it remotely possible is that I don't have to make so many one-off poses.  It would be perhaps 20 poses with randomization.  I will add it to the list.

The scripting part would not be that bad.  Making the billboards would be painful though.  As each face would have to be rendered 72 times with the whole body and then the face masked out to get just the face.

You're welcome! smiley  What options do you mean?  The sitting billboards? or that the script can now only move one angle at a time?

The beach set is definitely on there and I plan to have it in April, just in time for beach season in the Northern hemisphere.

One thing... I've noticed that the white clothing stands out a lot, which makes it a bit more difficult to "background" the characters. Don't get me wrong, they have their use, i.e. with a summertime crowd where most wear bright colours. But in more regular settings, they realy stand out a lot, so it's harder to make a crowd.

Man, this 'Modern City Life' billboard is great... a real timesaver -and also gigabyte eater, but that's understandable- ;-). I bought several of your products already (those of the 'Bone Doctor Pose'-family) and all very usefull, but with these Billboards you found a hole in the market I guess... Also the Party Time Billboard will move to my Cart soon as I have ideas with it. Do continue your fantastic job!

  • An anime crowd set please?

    (Also: RAID-5 for the win!)

Sorry about that.  Was there a specific figure billboard you have a problem with?  or all white clothing figures?

Thank you very much! smiley  And thank you for your continued support!

I really liked the idea of the billboards; I just wasn't happy with how the current offerings worked.  Thankfully, I was able to use my scripting skill to make something that made me (and you smiley) happy!

Oh, no complaining, just an observation. I noticed this with white / bright clothing in general, not any specific figure. OTH, you'll need those "outstanding" peeps as well, so...

Oh, ok.  Thank you for the critical feedback; that is always important.  Part of the problem is that some outfits just don't have the choices for the textures (at least that I own).

It somewtimes help if you dial down the white base colour to slight-off grey-ish so that it doesn't reflect like a christmas tree. Other than that, you can usually give the white-coloured clothing a different tint though maniplulating the base colour. I do this often also with other colour sets to get the colour I need.

For example, even with the expansion colour pack, this combat uniform doesn't have the black irregular troops style that I needed for my webcomic characters, but "just" the realistic army styles: https://www.daz3d.com/army-uniform-for-genesis-3-female-s-and-genesis-2-female-s

What I did was to change the base colour from white to a very dark grey, while leaving all other textures untouched. The result was just what I needed:

Of course, you can do this with all other colours, not just on the grey scale.

Thanks for the tip.  I am always learning new things with Daz smiley  I will use this in the Medieval City Life and rerender a peasant as his tunic is annoyingly bright:

Another option is to use shaders instead of (or combiend with) the regular textures, that way you can have more variations

Yes, that's pretty bright, i.e. if you put him into bright sunlight. (But I love the expression. smiley)

Here's how you change the settings to make it slightly off-white... this is done on the grey scale, but since it's medival, it's probably a good idea to use a slightly yellowish colour for the base, and test out what looks best from there. Make sure you also think about the glossy colour when you manipulate around.

And here's the same tunic with a bluish tint:

Thanks Leana.  I do vary it sometimes.

Thanks for your help Bee!  And I am glad you liked the expression smiley  The frown and the fist really convey a not-quite-beaten-down peasant look smiley

I subdued the whites on his tunic, and since I will have to rerender him anyway (sigh frown) I scuffed his boots and put a belt back on.

It is Great.. but I would like to ask if you can tell which clothing and hair sets are used.. So when you want to have some of these people from the distant crowd to start being part of a story, you can replace such background figure with a Gen3 or Gen 8 and have it start being part of the world you create.

I found Autumnal Woman Walking .. the set had almost the same name in the store

In this case I would have the texting lady. What is her hair, what is her clothing ?

    Thanks

    Thank you!

The Texting lady, according to my notes (amazingly, I kept notes on this project cheeky), used:

    /fwsa-indigo-hd-for-victoria-7
    /selfie-stick-and-smart-phone
    Hinata Dress
    /adalyn-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s

It *might* not be exactly Indigo, as I have started adding some of Sickleyield's Faces of XXX series to mix up the faces some and not have them be the same as main characters.

I don't know... it sounds like the figure billboard is acting like an actual sales billboard as now you want to buy all that stuff you might not have wanted before smiley  You should also remember that I was kitbashing that outfit so you get a lot more clothes for the price.
