I want Australian internet speeds in the US.

Why? Are they that fast? Mine is pretty fast. I know mine is capable of 4 Megabytes per second. Not megabits, Megabytes. But I only saw that once. Most sites can't spit out files that fast. This one only gets to around 1.1 to 1.5 Megabytes per second. Still not bad. Adam Thwaites' site, most-digital-creations, has two speeds...a slower one for the freebies, and a very fast one for the paid items.

No, very slow (the electrons have to run about under the sea, remember, plus flip their "z"s into "s"s and toss in "u"s in various places ;-). We're lucky to get a sustained 200 kiloBYTES/sec... >_<... and thankfully this isn't a 'real time forum', 'cause ping times are generally around 250-300msec to US servers (~_~).</div>

usually around 8 megabits/second from Daz servers for me, the SM servers are much much slower. Aussie broadband is being upgraded to at least 25 megabits/second download over the next few years, not sure what the upload will be, good enough for videoconferencing maybe?

Complaint: the RMP "You already have this product" check is broken... nearly re-bought a bunch of 3D-Age's skimpwear before realising Something Was Wrong >_<... and had to painstakingly figure out which I already had, and empty out half my cart again. Extra complaint: can't sort the per-vendor owned-product list by name (to make it easier to try and match things already purchased), can't display more than thirty items per page (making it painful to compare), and I really reeeeeally wish they'd put that "You already have this product" check back again >_<.</p>

    My complaint >_<. How y'all doing? </div>

I get the sort by name option in My Library. I just tried it and it works fine. It is a pain that they have only 30 per page, though. But the filter works well, and it's pretty fast. And on the product page, the Add to Cart button should be greyed out and say "purchased"...it does for me. They should also put that on the products catalog pages, not just the individual product pages. I do on mine.

erm... on Renderosity? o.0 ... (I have no complaints about the DAZ store finding things now - the two stores seem to have 'swapped' features - for awhile now Rendo would find things and DAZ wouldn't, now the status seems to have inverted >_<).</div>

Oh, sorry. Somehow I completely missed "RMP". :red:

To clarify my statement about Australian internet speeds:
I believe ps1borg said it took about 2 hours to download 9 gigabytes (PoserPro 2014). I may not be remembering it correctly.
I want that kind of speed at Home. I can go to a local hotspot and get free internet around 2 mb/s at best.
But I want that at home. My Verizon broadband has a 10 gigabyte/month metered limit. Top speed is 200 kb/s in the wee hours of the morning.
I live in the Boonies. There is no cable service to my home. Satellite is too expensive and unreliable (when it rains, it's off).
I want extremely fast, unlimited, very affordable internet at home. That's all. I just don't like lugging the laptop five miles from home to download larger content files so I don't use up all my bandwidth. And McDonalds doesn't serve fine ales And I dron't dink, anyways. :)
    This my complaint.

.....and this brings up my 'plaint for the day.

I don't understand why someone just can't offer a high speed internet plan without all the phone/telly rubbish included at a reasonable price

40- 50$ per month to get even the speeds I have here at the pub in the comfort of my home without all the interruptions I deal with would be worth it (and probably save me a few zlotys in the long run "paying rent" for the cafe or pub's connection).

What is worse, my USB modem is getting old (most likely contributing to the troubles I've been experiencing over the last several months). When I went to the ISP's outlet in my neighbourhood, they told me they did not sell the USB modems anymore and pressured me to signe up a "Smartphone" plan.

I Don't Need A Bloody Smartphone! I Don't Want A Bloody Smartphone! I can't download CG apps or large content/plugin files to a bloody Smartphone. I can't type on a bloody Smartphone because it has no bleediin' keyboard (well not a ":real" one) and there is no way I can use that miniscule virutal texting one that comes up on the screen with my clumsy arthritic hands.

(crikey, even the FF spell checker now recognises "smartphone" as a legitimate word as it doesn't put that red underline beneath it)

I just want a stable and "reasonably" fast Net connection without all the DL restrictions and the "three ring telecom circus" plan that usually comes with it. Is that too much to ask?

My internet gives me the ability to get 15MB/s but I normally get 1 MB/s- 4.5MB/s on DAZ

I don't know what the limit is, I just know it's the fastest tier Comcast/Xfinity offers. The thing is, when they quote speeds, these providers always give the speeds in megabits/sec. I don't want to be bothered with doing the math. Are you sure it isn't 15 megabits/sec that they are claiming, I think that might be what they say at Comcast, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I find that it must be incorrect, since I've seen faster than that. Since there are 8 bits in a byte, 15 megabits is not as much as it sounds like. If you divide 15 by 8, you'd get less than 2 Megabytes. That can't be right, since I've seen faster than that on several occasions.

...ugh, the sudden early summer we had seems to have flown somewhere else. Feel like I overslept and woke up in late October. Was incredibly cold last night when I took the rubbish and recycle out. Now rainy and in the upper 40s (it barely cracked 50° today) some 20° below normal. Not looking at all summery for the next 10 days either as it's not forecast to even break 70°. Sure hope this trend doesn't hang on very long.

Meanwhile in Austin the lows will be warmer than our forecast highs.

Crikey, it's going to be nicer in Moscow, St Petersburg Russia and even Fairbanks Alaska than here next week,

Um.. considering we are only half way into Spring not having FULL Summer temps yet might be a good thing? Summer starts on Friday June 21 so May 22 is just too soon for Summer heat if you ask me.

Huhhh, the baldie drow reminds me that I need to decide this week if I plan to cut my hair short or tough it out during the summer. While normally the problem of "long hair and hot weather" equation is solved by the amazing concept of ponytail, I find that it fails me at night and I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate it when my neck is overheated. So I suddenly need to be precognitive about the weather of next three months.
