There is just something neat and fun about this one! I love all those bands of color. Something about the shape brings to mind a box of crayons. It made me smile.
Love lurking in this thread and watching everyone develop their styles.
Carrara render - base is the ambient occlusion pass. I screwed up the lost and found edges because I failed to get an obj pass - not sure why - sonmthing that happenes when you save as tiff sometimes - png lets you save all the passes out as separate files
I am Ironman
Thanks a lot, mmitchell_houston.
Nice doggies, Headwax.
Great looking Ironman, tkdrobert.
thanks Artini, really enjoying your experiments
Thanks Headwax, watching you having so much fun with Carrara render passes, I came up with the solution of using layers from different filters.
Chewbacca: R.I.P. Peter Mayhew
I agree, this is one of my favorite threads. I don't often comment but I'm here nearly every day (or whenever there are new posts here) checking out the new renders. I love NPR renders and seeing all the different styles and techniques. :)
This is excellent, by the way! I love the doggies!
If I had one nit-pick it would be that the sitting dog doesn't look quite "grounded". He looks like he's floating a tiny bit. That's just a silly nit-pick though, all in all the render is amazing! I love the traditional art water-color look of it! :D
Oy! These are great! I love the works, guys! Keep 'em coming. I'm really enjoying everyone's styles. :)
Wow, there's some great work on this thread. @Headwax_Carrara Those rendered sketches are fantastic. I can see those being suitable for a professional market. Looks like you've got a really nice workflow.
@tkdrobert Your images are very cool. I have no idea how you created the Hulk, but that was seriously impressive. Enjoying your work a lot
@mmitchell_houston Great renders, I like the experimentation with textures and colors. Sometimes you can stumble over a good technique when trying out things. I read your comment on the comic book thread and decided to experiment with a Conan style character (Michael 4 - haven't used that character in ages, but he has some appropriate clothing and poses)
I am going for a sort of painterly, graphic novel style. Rendered out of Daz, one in Iray, one in 3Delight and did all postwork in Photoshop
A couple more VSS + Postwork.
Tweaks of Hiro 5 and Hitomi.
The shadowing on her of her breasts did a wierd thing, but other than that I'm happy with how this postwork looks.
Revenge of the 5th. Lots of Topaz Filters
Posting a story on Instagram? Cool. I s this something people do there or are you blazing new trails with this as your medium? I ask because I don't "do" Instagram at all.
The basic linework is nice, but I would make a few suggestions (if I may, and hope I'm not coming off as too critical):
May I ask why the use of the black dots on just the character? If you're going for an old-time comic book feeling I would expect to see them also in te background. Speaking of that, I do like the simplicity of your background. Very clean and soothing; it works well to convey the mood you set forth with her boy language and expression. Nicely done all around!
What a nice tribute! Lots of great detail here – love the detail on the hair!
These are a neat idea. I recommend maybe having the text proof-read for grammar and syntax.
For the first image, I recommend maybe the sentence as "I left my patience at home" (changing the word "mine" to "my").
For the second image, I recommend perhaps "Be the change you want to see in the world" (instead of "Be the change what do you want"). :)
Just a suggestion. :)
Nothing special here, just playing around,. Inspired by a new Blade-Runner comic coming out this July by Titan Comics.
This one is a lot of fun. Great lighting and glow effects. There's a few composition issues, but overall this is a neat little illustration with a lot going on – and you balanced it very well! nice job.
No need to apologize, there's nothing wrong with not being able to speak English well - as long as you can speak whatever language your family and friends speak, that's what counts right? heheh :)
I'm only suggesting that if you're going to use English text that it might be good to have someone proof-read the text for you first before you post them and Instagram. That way you can get your messages across more clearly. :)
Captain Rex
Another nice one, tkdrobert.
A couple more VSS + Postwork.
Tweaks of Hiro 5 and Hitomi.
The best clone trooper.
I'm not getting a strong NPR vibe from this, my friend. Although a great image, it looks a lot like 3Delight or a standard raytrace. Did you run it through Topaz to simplify the colors and textures?
Yes, I applied several Topaz filters to it.
Maybe it's the lettering, but I'm TOTALLY getting "80s-era video game box art" from this one! Love it!
Maybe a little more motion blur or faint white motion lines?
Been a while since I've posted anything, but I'm almost completed with the sci-fi anthology I have been working on. Here's the version of the art, both with and without the text.
This is still in the proof process: We need to add the publisher's logo, bar code and price to the bottom of the back cover.
