I will buy this and other sets the instant they are released..

These look like excellent quality items, and some proper, decent historical clothing is VERY long over due.

I would love for you to do Romans and Byzantium and Vikings and Saxons and...and......You get the Picture lol...

Gotta admit that's a nice looking set :D

Also, just as a completely unrelated comment, a new iteration of Bruuna, maybe based on Gia, would be something I would gladly pay for ;)

Thanks Babubary!!! This is a great idea. But at the moment, I do not have time to make a new Bruuna! Hugs! :)

Looks great. Hoping you might be the one to make a really nice Valkyrie set for Genesis. Love those maidens but the last really convincing set was done way way back for Victoria 1 - 2. http://www.daz3d.com/valkyrie-pack

    Thamks RAWWolff!!! :)

I believe you will like it when I start making the Vikings.
But the collection, Age of Warriors is a collection based on
history, not fiction. But I have plans for a new collection, called: Age of Mythology! :)

I'm too busy geeking out over it. :)

I love all things Celtic, even if only 1/4 of my ancestry can be traced to Celtic lands (the rest is Germanic). I love the details of this set, the quantity (and of course quality) of items, the material settings, the poses... The lack of boob-plates on the armor. (Always a huge, huge plus with me. I can't stand breastplates that vacu-form around a woman's breasts.)

It's going to take me quite some time to come down from this virtual high to provide critical feedback. :cheese:

I pondered and dithered and finally decided that owning this set was a better bet than a good meal, so ... ;)

First use of part of it (just spear and shield) - a bit of naughtiness, so be warned! http://fav.me/d6ism1u

I am playing around with this set at the moment..

It is excellent. But I do have a couple of feedback comments..

I use Luxrender to render my images, so I have been removing the provided armour shaders and replacing them with lux Metal shaders, and I have noticed that for the Breast plate there is not a seperate material zone for the Studs / Rivets..

It would be much better if there was a seperate Mat Zone for the Rivets, or even actual rivet geometry (which I appreciate would be alot for extra work), If the rivets had their own Material Zone, it would make the Breast plate more versatile as you could, for example, change it to look like a Leather Breast plate with either Steel or Bronze rivet heads. As it is you cannot make the colour of the Rivet heads different to the base Breast plate colour.

Secondly the scabbards..I would like to see some really intricately modelled Scabbards and Scabbard belts.

In most Historical periods Scabbards tend to be either laced to the sword belt / baldrick and suspended from them from the lacings, or similarly buckled to the sword belt..

Again alot of potential work but I think you could do that as an expansion pack.

I shall post up a Render soon.

Once again great work and I shall be purchasing Celts 2, plus ANY other Sets you produce.

    Cheers,

    S.K.

Will Celts 2 have mail shirts.??

I know the Romans introduced the use of Mail armour into their Armies after their exposure to it from fighting Celts..

Though I can understand If you are planning on leaving Mail shirts until you get to Saxons / Vikings etc.. ;)

In any case I will be fascinated to see how you tackle mail.

It is a notoriously difficult Item of armour to reproduce in 3D/CG, though ironically one of the most simple forms of armours to create in real life.

    Cheers,

    S.K.

Thank S.K. - Glad you enjoyed Celt 1.

I'll try to answer your questions and your tips to improve my clothes. :)

1 - The first Celt1 armor was made with real rivets in modeled. Remember that Genesis uses technology Weight Map. When I started doing Rigging armor, strains the rivets were huge, brutal. When applying morphs rivets jumped out of the armor. Or rivets entered into the armor. That was a big problem. The armor was already heavy with more than 58,000 polygons. Rivets jumped out, for lack of density, base armor was low in polygons. It was necessary to increase the density of base armor, I did and was whole armor to 95,000 polygons. Very heavy, solved the problem, but if deformed with morphs. And it was impossible to edit the morphs. I had to do the rivets as displacement map. It is impossible to separate the rivets as another area of material in armor smooth. Unfortunately not everything is possible for all software.

2 - sheathed swords I'll try to apply details as asked. However baldric sheath is separate for one reason. For a sheath are not following, the anatomy of Genesis ( distort ), apply one, stiffness map. The sheath will follow genesis without distortion but this eliminate the weight map. If I had done it in armor, she never would bending, but would not work with the morphs.

So was created the preset character, torso locked....

    Hugs!! :)

I love the 2nd one. Reminds me a bit of Thor! lol

I think swordkensia was asking if your going to do some chainmail (cota de malha) types of under garments that lend more protection when fighting in the upcoming set (Celt #2) or perhaps do that sort of work in a future product?

PS. Checked out your website. Your a very talented artist Roberto! HUGS

    Hi Roberto,

Thanks for the details on the modelling process and I now fully understand why you created the Breast plate the way you did, so no problems.

RAMWolff, is correct. I was asking if you are going to attempt modelling Chainmail armour, and how you intended to go about it.

And for me personally I prefer Option 1 but...hell...lets just have both.... ;))

    Cheers,

RAMWolf, I understand that you think looks like Thor. The winged helmet, but this is nothing to do with the Nordic culture. This hawk wings helmet Celt is the standard-bearer. Celtic people at the first man in front was the head followed the sub boss, the standard-bearer and the one who played the trumpet. Behind them came the army, terrible and bloody, running toward the enemy, screaming like a bunch of madmen.

Thank you for liking my art, is 27 years as an illustrator of didactic books.

    Big Hug! :)

    Richard

This is not condoning war or violence, quite the opposite. This is the story of humanity. It can not be forgotten in its richness of culture of each nation. History is all we have, without it there is no future.

I'm sorry, humanity now struggle for stupid reasons. Today is aware we are civilized, yet no one to talk, to have power is something that everyone wants, whether past or barbarians in the modern world of intellectuals owners empires of industry. is the same.

In the past wars, the ancient peoples, brought evolution. Greece conquered half the world at that time, with the time spread its culture, culture that the world was not, and could not be just the Greeks. The mathematics, medicine, astronomy, fíisica, chemistry, literature, theater, architecture and handling of the brass, and they destroyed the Persian Empire, which was a cancer forever. In the future the Romans were masters of the world, they had as its basis the Greek culture, much more advanced, and took it further, changing the barbarian world.

    Thus, humanity walks. :)
