since upgrading my RAM to 32GB Octane Carrara 4 as well as DAZ studio iray have been coping far better on my machine even with my 980ti

but Windows 10 never lets me rest easy

I am in constant fear of what will break next

Octane certainly gives awesome results but my funds are very very limited now, I just discovered something else on my house that requires attention too!

WoW im still using GTX660Ti and it's been work for me. Slow by todays standard but works. Did you try the RAM drive option for performance in Carrara or did you do it for Windows 10 general?

I bought more RAM a month ago

since previous post when I only had 8GB

Octane works fine but my Win10 PC not my so much card is not very good,

    is a Ryzen3
better with more RAM though in particular is for DAZ studio and iray too

I simply ran out of RAM before even openGL

These actually came out relatively decent.

  • Some very realistic examples there, Tugpsx!

Not sure what a lookup table is though.  How do they apply to Octane?

LUTS are applied on Octane Setting Imager Tab. The sample images show Aspen applied to the image at 0.5 and 1 notice the color grading changes.

Here are a couple of links to Free LUTS

you would need to have UE4 installed and I don't think any of them are free any longer, are for a month

one would then export them from UE4 in an image format (I cannot for others)

  • Tugpsx, thanks for those examples and links!  Exactly the explanation I was seeking.

  • How to Generate Easy LUTs in Photoshop

    1. Import a Still. Simply import a high-res frame from your project (RAW or otherwise) into Photoshop. ...
    2. Add Adjustment Layers. Create at least one adjustment layer, and make your color corrections as desired.
    3. Export the LUT. Click File > Export > Color Lookup Tables and then choose your settings and save.
