I like to tell people that in Northern Michigan they may see "Tree Deer", and they often look at me incredulously, not believing that such a creature exists. And thats when I tell them the story my cousin told me

"Ya I was out der drivin and I looks off da side of da road der and I sees deeze tree deer. Dey was jus a standin der on da side off da road. Jus deeze tree deer standin der by deeze tree trees. out der on da side of root turdy tree."

not grammatical per se, but the use of "prolly" as a replacement for "probably", annoys me for some strange reason. Yes, okay, I admit it, I'm officially old now, or at least I will be, in a few weeks.

U prolly also dont like it when peeps type stuff like "I here wot u r sayin tho" either, huh?
Examples like the above sentence annoy the heck out of me as well.
I liked the Alot post quite a lot.

Grammar doesn't bother me as much as people writing a book for their post. We read probably several hundred posts a day so when I come to one that looks like a page out of a book My head just falls in defeat.

Does that mean I have to get out the dictionary and look up "literally" again?

You can if you want to, but I thought "literally" is how one disposes of trash from one's car while driving.

Hey, I didn't say I'd succeed in looking it up...

Henglish is not the same as 50 years ago. I bought a 1952 Noah Webster dictionary and a colleague at worked asked me why didn't I buty a 'new' one. Cause I read stuff written before I was born, and have to know what some of those words mean, or used to mean.

How do you know when you are getting old? You get solicitations for funeral arrangements in the mail shortly after the AARP ask for membership.
