    does having a separate scratch disk speed rendering frames enough to make it worth it?

    i have a partition but is the same drive,

    read somewhere a separate scratch helps

    just noticed there an umage file type selection for rpf

    never heard of that 1

    wondering if rara can save irradiance map for the all the frames in animation??

    Fabaone's ShareCG tutorials are quite helpful. I still find it a little difficult to understand what she's doing most of the time, though. :( She's great with it though. She was part of the driving force behind the plugin from the start!

    Fenric always hoped that somebody could help him produce a decent manual for it. He said that he's a programmer, not so much a software instructional author - so he had a hard time putting the functions to words in instructional form. He does explain, but it's still a vast controller for sure.

    PhilW's Advanced Carrara Techniques video tutorials has a fine explanation on using some of its features for controlling the flaps of the biplane (Sopwith Camel) by manipulating only one of the flaps. It's a simple example, which really works well toward helping one to understand how to get the modifiers working together - exactly what the Doctor ordered in many cases.

    Incidentally, Edgar's brother was Johnny Winter, one of the great blues guitarists.  Both albinos, they used to walk around the mall here in Houston with their troops, got some strange looks.  I tried setting my Fender Mustang up on its stand in front of this Johnny Winter video.  It didn't learn a thing.

    Off topic even more.  Visiting family inTexas.  Sat on a screened in porch for a few hours. Got bit by some bugs and both hands swelled up. Yowzah.

    sprang for a new bigger hdd  they calling it a gaming drive, hopefully means faster

    for some silly reason decided i want a fresh win7 install.  
    even tho i have the lovely hd duplicator

    had to tear my apt apart looking for the notebook with my activation key.

    backed up my content and carrara folders. hoping i wont have to reinstall mimic and stuff.
    copied the qs filder to backup.  i deleted all the support files, wont be able to recrreate the smart database.

    i havent forgotten the 4 challenge.  been beset with hardware issues.  new drive gives lotsa space.
    those avi files are killer huge.  cant render directly to mp4

    pita internet activations. havent learned how to use blacksmith, but is on my reinstall list.
    bandicam
    may even install poser this time.
    each program in sony suite needs activation. 
    bandicam
    there only a couple of the free s/wares i use. 

    music and tutorials backed up
    feels like i forgetting something  jitters

    i havent found any video tutts on how to use carrara wm tools

    ahhzo theres a trick to using a 5tb drive in win7 64 bit

    has to concert to gpt first  otherwise can only use first 2 tbs

    i redownloaded carrara win64 installer to do clean install

    the poser.ocx file is missing.

    i cant open any daz or poser files.  gahhh  dont know what troubleshoot to do first

    Is this from DAZ? Better let CS know installer corrupt 

    try another version of Carrara in the meantime if you have it like the beta or 8.1 even if you just copy over the plugins

    starting over, windows cant install on a gpt drive. has to be mbr

    i dont understand why poser.ocx wasnt installed. i didnt see an error message

    I know the Mac one has a 0 file FBX export/importer but didn’t know of any having issues with DAZ and Poser content
