I am sure someone will run a skewer through their heart watching this

had a spate of people asking me why I don't make videos like the weird ones I did 10 years ago

    surprise so i made one

Wendy, I read the first word of your video title as "Hysterical" and then somehow my confusion just escalated from there. (I've been mixing Prevagen with alcohol so now my memories of being drunk are much more vivid).

“I must not fear. Fear is the Thread-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

You know the count of number of posts under our avatar?  Does that get adjusted if we have posts deleted?

    Asking for a friend.

Posts are not deleted,  they are removed and stored.   so no, post count doesn't change.

and titles and little green boxes to collect was quite some years agao.  That was the first change of forum software from the old old old forum which had been held together with string, duct tape, elastic bands, and chewing gum.

And safe-t-pins and popsicle sticks too, yes?

I would like it except that the places here plop the raw meat at your table and it's up to you to cook it.  If I still have to cook it and mind my contamination procedures, then why did I even bother to leave my kitchen?

I some ways I'm sort of glad I don't have the terabytes of content others do.

You can store an awful awful LOT of content in just a single terabyte.

More capacity doesn't make management all THAT much more difficult, nor is it all that much more expensive for the hardware.  It's a one-time purchase and that's only if you need to expand that partition and you've already used up all the available free space on that drive.  So on occasion, it costs for a bigger hard drive and a little more than that if proper data management also ends up requiring the purchase of larger backup media.

And going back at least 10-15 years, it's been true that about every 5 years, you can buy an SSD/hard drive of twice the capacity for less than the same price.  I just recently purchased an 8TB SSD for less than 90% what I paid for a 4TB drive about 4 years ago.  Smaller drives are even cheaper yet.  If you don't mind having more drives or a couple of external drives, it's even easier (aka "cheaper") to increase capacity by smaller increments.

Right now, 1TB "M.2" drives are only around $130, and that's on the expensive site.  Old-school 2.5" SSDs are even cheaper; only around $100 for a terabyte; even cheaper if you only need a half-TB.  And that's for new components.  Used/Refurbed components are even more economical!

I guess my point is that this is a great time for hardware prices, if you shop around.

For those of you wondering why serial killers all wear the same glasses.

The list of serial killers who wore glasses is long and bloody, from Dahmer to BTK to Harold Shipman and his professorial frames; even the Zodiac Killer, never caught, wears a thick-rimmed pair in a police sketch. The aesthetic of “serial killer glasses” is so pervasive that it pops up everywhere from Urban Dictionary (“Eyeglasses with heavy or severe frames that live somewhere between fashionable and creepy”) to TV Tropes (where “a guy who is cold, emotionless … or even a soulless monster” is given glasses “to quickly tip off the audience to his personality”), and countless Tumblr posts in between.
