I wonder why DAZ hasn't come up with a more transitional UV map, like say have the tighter UV from the face flow into the Neck/Back of head and then spread back out so that the face and back of head is a very smooth transition to a larger UV as expected.  With all the UV tricks being implemented these days I'm sure it's possible!

The reason is at least historical. They wanted to keep the same uvs as Genesis 3... Which is basically a good idea. Now why genesis 3 was made this way, this is the question!

Cake One and V3Digitimes thank you both very much I really appreciate you going over everything and your update. I did realise that the Fantasy Skins don't actually produce the seam but just make it visible but I don't always explain myself very well with the written word. Its a lovely product and I've already getting some nice results. I will post a render when its done.

    You're more than welcome.
I can't wait to see what nice results you have.

I'm always frustated to never see what has been made with the products i created or collaborated to create :)

A render, a render! If I can make the short version why the details are more visible. Two reasons: first, the way we set the volume settings does not "drown" the details as it is often the case now, when people take 80-90% of the light to go and scatter in the volume, shake, shake, shake, and send very attenuated and "blurred" light back out of the skin (like it is the case in a lot of G8 figures now). Second reason is a pure matter of contrast. The skins being less "white based" once the base materials are applied you have a better contrast in term of luminsity and of color of the gloss above the skin. You increase this effect as you add additional effects. Wow! I managed to make a short answer!

I'd be happy to see what renders people make with all the possibilties they have, it woud be so interesting ;)

I'm sorry.... I use your smiles all the time, and never think to include them in the "products used". I'll have to be more circumspect about that.

Lol, yes a lot of them are obviously not "brand new", but having a rapid look I would have said March Madness Fantasy Skins (lol this one was easy), March Madness universal horns, and March Madness cyborg generation arm... For the last one I'm less sure...

From memory: yes and yes - the arm I am not so sure on, that's a maybe.  The V-wing fighter, Iray desert, drone beastie in background and the HDRI are a definite no ..  well, definite for most :cheeky

Oh, not sure about the Universal Eyes and sci-fi gun blush

I used the character "Tara 2" by Kayleyss.
Definitely one of my all time favorite characters.

Here is the same scene used in the thumbnails, zoomed out and without any of the Fantasy Skins effect.

    Completely!

Just came here to say that the update should normally be available now. Nothing was removed or modified, if the update was fine, only files were added :

    - 1 to remove anisotropy from the top coat. Interesting for presets ending with "B". May also be interesting with "C" and "D".

    - Several Flakes effects: Flakes sizes (matching along the body, different sizes available). Several Flakes density.

thanks :) Very Evil Dead movies and tv series Ash VS The Evil Dead influenced. Been wanting to do something like this for awhile but didn't have anything close to looking like creepy dolls or doll enough like for what I wanted then it came to me maybe toon characters they have big eyes and first found Sukura 8 and Pix addon but wasn't quite there then found Toon Boy and Toon Girl and could add other skins to them and morph was getting closer then horror eyes almost there but the doll skin/porcelain look just couldn't get it right then you released Fantasy Skins it was like fate and also the added bonus could make Macarena that pale looking while keeping her base skin tone loved that look be using that a lot perfect for ghost/deadish/posssessed skins/characters and a lot of the other skin colours will work for a lot of other characters had in mind but couldn't get the colours right myself. Something that would be cool as an update or seperate product would to be able to use this on anatomy add ons products like wings, tails and so on oh and creatures and animals skins

In the base product you already have a geograft transfer tool (I think it's the last of the 300+ files, so maybe you did not reach it yet). If your anatomy parts (wings, tails) are geografted, and parented to the figure, then I think they should be detected by the script, and you should be able to tranfer the shader. But those two conditions are obligatory.

I bought this product a while ago and love it so far!

I'm wondering if there is any way to keep the nipple color of either males or females after applying the fantasy shader? It seems to work with makeup, maybe there's a way for that too?
    Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. No, the nipple color will automatically offset. It will offset less if you use less saturated colors. The reason why it is different from the makeup is that makeup is created using diffuse overlay layer, but the nipple belongs to the base color map.

A work around would be to create an opacity map with the nipples painted in white and the rest of the torso map in black (probably with a soft edge so you get a little blending between the two shades to avoid the 'stuck on' look) and then plug the black and white map into the diffuse overlay weight channel for the torso and the base torso map into the diffuse overlay chanel which'd let you use the nipples in the same manner as make up.

owever, for optimal results you'd need different opacity maps for each nipple texture since the diameter isn't standard.

Yes create a "nipple make up" coud be a solution. Then you change the Diffuse Overlay Color to handle the nipple color. Sadly a bit long and complicated...

I love playing with this product! I have a commission where the customer wants the same effect as the gold girl in the second promo where the two girls are gold and white? Is there a list of the presets used to make that skin anywhere? Of course I know that it will vary depnding on the underlying skin used, but I'm just looking for the color and flake etc presets used so I can get close! Thanks for this product!

Used here for a new Pathfinder character I rolled recently... sadly she died remarkably quickly (damn critical hits at level 1!), but I might pull her out again later!

Hey, love this product, really works great.
However recently the Gen skin transfer stopped working, it just says the script is unable to run.

Have tried on BETA and standard Daz, any idea why this is happening?
Struggling to find any info or log capture.

Hi, I just tried DS 4.12, and it works for me. I'm gonna ask cake one if she has an issue. It's weird because nothing changed in Daz which would prevent it from working.

Have you tried to copy the script somewhere (on your deskstop for instance) and to drag and drop it on your figure?

Is your product connect installed or DIM installed? If you installed it using one version, you can try to install it using another version. Eventually you can uninstall and reinstall the full product with the same installation option before you swap from DIM to connect or inversely.

Let me know if what I proposed help.
