The Vengeful Spirit by SickleYield and Fuseling, for Genesis and Genesis 2 Female, can be found here.

http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/vengeful-spirit-for-genesis-and-genesis-2-female-s

And here's our new Burlap Dolly:

http://www.daz3d.com/pc-anniversary-sale-week-4/burlap-dolly-genesis-and-genesis-2-female

If you have questions about how to use the products, or how to get a certain look, please post here rather than starting another thread. As with many other products of ours with special features, you can find the manual in My DAZ 3D Library/Readme's for the Vengeful Spirit set (or My Library/Readme's depending on when you first installed DAZ Studio).

This is especially helpful because the manual includes a section on using Advanced Ambient lights to get your best possible specters - falloff is such a wonderful feature for ghostly characters!

Thank you for making this product work for both genesis and genesis 2, and not a separate product.
And congratulations on another nice item.

I bought this but haven't done a render with it yet. It's sort of in the back of my mind what I want to do. I did want to say though that I am a huge fan of your stuff Sickleyield!

Thank you, all! I just wanted to make sure the thread was here. I've added Burlap Dolly to the title so that if anyone needs help with the conforming pieces or morph combos, etc. they can ask here on that, too.

Thank you! We tried to make sure there's a lot you can do with it for toys, scarecrows, dressmaker's dummies, etc.

    Sacky Hollow

I also posted this in the PC Anniversary Render Contest thread but thought I'd put it here as well.

Rendered in DS 4.6 Pro, Post Work in GIMP 2.8.

Inspired by the Sleepy Hollow TV series, I got round to watching the first episode last night (it only aired here in the UK earlier this month) and whilst trying out the Burlap Dolly I realised that if I made the Head invisible & used the collar accessory it would work very well as a Headless Burlap Horse-Dolly, with couple of weapons added (no horse though) it's ready to sow mayhem and decapitation wherever it goes.

Quick test render. This is a really cute creation.
Used Garibaldi for the hair I tried to get it to look like frayed wool, could do with a bit more work though.

The yarn/hair shaders are looking for /data/Michelle/hair/PH Sassy/UV Sets/Michelle/Base/default.dsf, which I don't have. In 4.6.1.17, a missing file error pops up that I can safely ignore and the shader applies to whatever hair I have selected. In the 4.6.2.23 beta, the missing file error causes DS to die a horrible death.

I'll post the beta problem to the beta thread as well, just wanted to let you know about the UV issue.

Also, the burlap shaders require V5 UVs (which I do have, so it's no big deal), but V5 isn't listed as required on the product page.

Sorry about the shaders issue. They work fine for Sickle and I, but the dolly was made with version 4.6.1.17 which is the version I have. I checked the .duf files in my text editor and the yarn shaders do appear to contain a reference to the uv for the Pure Hair Sassy, although I have no idea why they saved out that way. I will investigate further and try to find a fix for this, thanks for letting us know!

Oh no worries! The shaders are usuable after skipping the error in 4.6.1.17. The error causing a crash in the beta is likely a beta issue. :)

    Greetings,
This is a WIP, I want to darken it up and add some more detail, but this was the first reaction I had as soon as I saw the burlap doll. My partner's first reaction (to the doll and the promo pictures) was, 'OMG! Creepy!' ;)

I tried to make a teddy bear using Joequicks mouse ears and changing limits on ear height parameters.
not really teddy bear enough for me
is there a way to dial out the Burlap head morph and keep the body?
maybe even a teddy bear head addon morph one day!
(would suit ball jointed doll too)

No, the Toon Dolly's proportions really aren't friendly to partial use, so we did not facilitate that (the other dolly has separate head and body morphs). It's not really meant to be a teddy bear. ;)

Probably not what you were expecting, but if you combine half the morph with severed man, you can achieve a pretty decent voodoo head. lol

Which reminds me, when I was playing with the eye stitches, I noticed they can't be moved independently, but the mouth stitches can. Is there anything I can do to the eye stitches so that xyz-translation will work on them?

I do not have V5. Will I still be able to use the burlap shaders if I buy this product. Is there any other way to get the V5 uv's without purchasing V5???

textures work but applying the shaders to Genesis or anything else inc a sphere primitive crashes studio to desktop.
might be some weirdness with my set up,( I have other issues I hope to resolve once I add another drive for my content)
but saved a log file in case if anybody else having this, not submitting if just me.

It seems to be an issue with the latest beta and the yarn shaders, which we were unable to find out because the beta wasn't out yet when Fuse was making the shaders. It will be addressed as fast as we can.

And probably not, Vaskania. I added those as morph dials to the mouth recognizing how much mouth position can differ between characters; it didn't occur to me that would be an issue with the eyes.

I have discovered a potential fix for the shader issues and am currently fixing and testing them. We will post the update to PASS as soon as it is completed. Once the update is through testing and you have downloaded and installed it you should be able to use the burlap and yarn shaders with any surface without getting the missing uv error.

    Sickle- Gotchya. Thanks.

    Fuseling- Good to hear! Thanks.

Can someone please check this for me to see if it's just my install, I can reproduce it on 4.6.1.17 and the 4.6.2.23 beta:
Load the mouth stitches, keep them selected in the scene, load the eye stitches- only 6 morphs present on the eyes stitches.
Now try it with nothing selected before loading the eye stitches and all 8 morphs are present. o_O

That's going to happen, because when you have something selected and load another conformer it will try to conform to the FIRST conformer. With G2F items this triggers an autofit prompt. With G1 it does not. When that happens, morphs with identical names will "vanish" from the conformed item.

I use this deliberately with some of my belts and pants. ;)

needing to understand... does this mean the burlap shaders will work without needing V5 uv's?

After the update they will. We've uploaded it for testing and it should be out soon.

I always have to tweak stuff instead of using it out of the box
did get a reasonable teddy with G2F and several creature creator ears
however a PBM with separate head would give the option of many creature creator headed plush toys
so if thinking of making another product ,,,,,,

I had no idea that happened. I thought I only had to worry about that with conforming onto base figures (ie Genesis). Learn something new every day. Thanks!
