Hey, where are all my OTHER morphs? I thought the whole purpose of the Genesis platform was to allow you to mix and match morphs from all sorts of characters. I buy Mike 6, install him, and none of my other morphs exist for him. No Mike 5 or Mike 4 morphs, no anubis head and legs.. Did they REALLY just break the entire Genesis concept and come out with a figure that has absolutely nothing, AGAIN????????

    Boojum

You might want to try this thread
It is a bit technical and manual transfer requires some jumps through loops and hoops, but it is maybe possible to bring many morphs into G2M/G2F or bring G2M/G2F morphs back to Genesis. I didn't try it with Anubis, not sure how well it would work.

But as a whole, yes, 'Genesis' 2 doesn't follow the concept of Genesis of keeping everything in a single figure for unparalleled flexibility.

I just spent months converting my characters from gen 3 characters and gen 4 characters into gen 5 characters... I could use some of the male shaping morphs in females and female shaping morphs on males. I can't even access the Gen2 female morphs with the Gen2 male. Ok.... I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to return this. I'm really dissapointed that they decided to move away from a set of characters that could be anything to seperate characters again.

The main reason that the morph packs are not included in the M6 bundle is that the morphs are for Genesis 2 male, not M6.

Some people may want to use the morphs, but not buy M6.

It was the same with Genesis 2 female, and of course with Genesis.

But why include characters in the bundle that require the separate morphs pack to work properly?

I think they are working on Gen X for G2, that should take care of things.

Thanks, Kattey. I've tried to find some official confirmation, but haven't been able to yet. No one so far has claimed to have used the code twice, as far as I can see. I see that the Daz3D news letter this morning says that "Your M6 coupon code now works with multiple M6 products," but it doesn't really address the subject of unlimited use.

Anyway, I wanted to download the free Genesis 2 Male Essentials for 4.6. When I went into the download screen for Genesis 2 Essentials, I noticed that the Gen 2 Female Essentials file was much bigger than my download in Oct. for the same-named file. It seems that a major revision to the file must have been done. People ought to download all the current Gen 2 Essentials files if they want to archive them, I would say.

Is there a page where Daz3D scrupulously reports its updating of important files, so we can be forewarned that we might be installing obsolete files?

Finally, I see there are Gen 2 male and female (Templates) files among the files for the Gen 2 Essentials. Are these the clothing-enabling clones that some of the new-release copy mentions?

The mega2 m6 coupons are multiple use coupons.

No, those are texture template files - DAZ3D moved them from store product pages to Product Library installer pages to let users have access to them in case if product retires. G2M and G2F mutual clones are located in main G2F and G2M Essential installers.

Oh? Now that has potential. I've been using Gen X for Genesis to update my genesis figures. Have you heard if GenX for G2 will let me simply move my (now) custom morphs over from Genesis to Genesis2? I've put a lot of work into recreating my characters into Genesis and really don't want to loose that work.

I have used the Mega Coupon for Mike 6 twice, once for the Pro Bundle and once for the Morphs Bundle.

Genesis 2 Female Essentials was updated when they released Daz Studio 4.6.1.33, the announcement in the forum said you have to re-install Genesis and Genesis 2 Female Essential packages for that release.

I bought the Michael 6 pro this morning. no head and body morphs were with the package. checked this afternoon and the head and body morphs were on the new item page and bought them .and there was a 20.09 credit for them. is this because they weren't in the original package?

You got credit most probably because initially, up until today later morning, M6 Pro bundle was priced about $40 higher. You got $20 or store credit probably because you probably used megacoupon or some other sort of discount - look here, maybe it is your situation as well.

Head and Body morphs weren't and aren't supposed to be in Starter and Pro bundles at all.

I've edited my post a bit.

Initially M6 Pro Bundle default cost was about $166 but on 30% intro sale it should have been around $116.

With new and proper price of about $125 for M6 Pro Bundle, 30% intro sale gives about $88, so the difference in that case probably around $28.
If you are PC members there is additional 30% discount, so prices for M6 Pro Bundle were around $81 (before the fix) and $61 (after the fix).

If you are PC member, maybe this is where $20 store credit comes from? This is without any megacoupons, just regular intro + PC discount.

Okay so I am a little upset about the separate figure for male and female thing after the super functionality of the original Genesis and all but I have to say that M6 is gorgeous. From what I have seen so far of his muscle mass and form he is well done, though I cannot get my hands on him now I am looking forward to playing with him, here's hoping that the gen x thing works well with him.

Well done Daz team, well done. :)

I think there may have been an update for Josie in the actual files, but mainly on about the 8th there was additional content added to support the new Tutorial that's now included in the Gen2Female Starter essentials package.

There is a new hair, a new outfit, and an older but nice environment. (Probably lights as well, certainly poses, but i think the poses were already a part of the package). That's why the file is so much bigger.

I find this all really entertaining. It's like this is a drug rather than assets. :-) Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be insulting and if you need 3D humans for scenes this is the right place to buy them.

So only Michael 6 Pro has genitals. That must be quite disturbing for the other Michael's who are apparently handicapped. If a person could not afford Pro they would have to later on pay twice for some items to get some? I don't know why that strikes me as humorous but it does. It's like selling a car and saying you don't get the front seat until you pay for the luxury package. Poor, poor Michael.

In over 12 years of messing around with 3D modeling and rendering I don't think I've ever needed a model to have genitals so I guess they are a luxury item.

Money is less of a problem, but some of us simply do not care for the clothing or hair in the Pro bundle. And trust me, Mike 6's dangly bits are not worth much unless there's been some significant improvement since Mike 5 :P

Besides the geografted genitals would be of little use to me anyway since I'd be using mostly Genesis and M4 skins on G2M.

I think it would be a great idea if they sold build your own bundles instead of ones they pick out. I guess the logistics of that might be an issue since the items come from more than on vendor. Might be more trouble than it's worth. I think I'd have put the morphs in a Pro bundle instead of wardrobe items a lot of people won't want or need.

Oh well, I've just recently ended up with M & V 4 and 5 bundles so I'll wait a while for this anyway. I mainly do outdoor renders with animals to add color to the scenes. I needed some people recently so I got into PC for the first time in a few years and loaded up using PC savings upgraded Carrara while I was at it as it came with the 5 versions. Now I've got all these people I won't use but rarely.

What I'd like to see is all those old animals redone. I can't use many of them anymore as they are too low resolution and unrealistic. Must not be much interest in good animal models I guess.

I've been thinking about learning to make morphs and maybe clothing, but should I work with Genesis or Genesis 2?

The Michael 6 page has some fancy jargon, but where are the pictures comparing Genesis and Genesis 2? Are the fake links ("Read more") supposed to lead to some more specific information?

So far the only significant improvement I see over Genesis is in expressions. Do I want to buy all the basic stuff again if that's all? I don't think so.

Alright... so you tricked me? I've bought your Pro package and it didn't come with the "Genesis 2 Male Starter Essentials"... Where the heck is the character?

I've downloaded and tried to use it and without the base character of Genesis 2 Male, all I'm getting are boxes.. what the hell?

I *have* noticed over on Rendo that a few vendors who ignored Genesis have rather gingerly brought out some items for Gen2F.

I don't know whether that's anything specific to do with Gen2F or that if they were intending to branch out anyway, they prefer to try it with a Genesis-based figure rather than jumping over to Dawn.

The handful or so of vendors who adopted Genesis already have brought out items for the later iteration of Genesis.

It will be interesting to see whether they start playing with M6 quicker than they did V6 (unlikely), or M5 (not difficult).

Sorry guys and gals, I had a huge laugh at some phrasing a few posts above...ahh...it's a family site and I know it was unintentional, and maybe I'm the only one here with a mind sick enough to find humor in it. Just made me smile. Nope, I'm not gonna give anybody any more hints. You'll have to find it yourself. Okay, you twisted my arm; so one more hint...think "unintentional double entendre" and you may find it... :cheese:

And now I think I shall find a new browser, because Firefox thinks I misspelled "entendre". Yes, I could add it to the dictionary, but should that even be necessary? Pah!

On to M6. Now I see the price is lower than it was this morning. But so is my "mega" savings. Can't win for losing. I am still thinking this over, and may wait a few more days to see what else is released.
