That is so weird how your gamma seems to have the opposite effect that mine does. Is the gamma on your graphics card set correctly!? Mine is set to 2.2. I'd go to those settings and check. If it is already set there, maybe you don't need to do anything. I'm sure that raising the gamma makes things lighter not darker.

CHEERS!
Yes, I agree. It is a bit strange, but I have tested the gamma on two different computers and got the same results.
When using Reality, in Lux render when I increase gamma, the image gets brighter.
Today Unity 3D 5.0.0 was released and its free personal licence now allows to use all features of the engine even the Pro ones.
Since I have bought Daz Developer licence, now it is the time to make same game/demos with Genesis 2.
It is pretty easy to import Daz 3D assets to Unity, so it will keep me busy for a while...
Mmm, most odd. If I knew my graphics card wasn't going to spontaneously combust I'd try rendering that Bjorn with gamma off to see what it was like. I'm not terribly interested in gaming right now so Unity holds little interest for me. I'd like to see what you do with it though.
CHEERS!
EDIT: Just thinking, did you alter your settings within 4.7? Mine were there from the previous installation of 4.6, would that have any bearing on things!?
Below is the screenshot of my current render settings.
Nothing out of the ordinary there. Perhaps you should post in the 4.7 thread and see if anyone else has had the same issue. It could just be something simple like the radio button setting being reversed or something, the gamma turning off instead of on.
Pretty cool! I think I have an F-22 they did around somewhere.
CHEERS!
I used to love The stuff that shukky made, I used to use their models almost exclusively back when i first started playing around with daz studio and pretty much only used freebies back then. I might re-install some and play around with them again lol.
I don't remember who made it now but i still have Rei Ayanami's plugsuit from neon genesis evangelion for A3.
I'm currently into Universal monsters from the old movies, and I remembered that I had a Frankenstein monster for Poser and DS lurking somewhere. I didn't have the zip for it, but, I had it installed on one of my old laptops, so I copied all the files, made a new zip and he's alive again. He's for F4, which I hadn't even installed on here till just now. There is also a complete lab and light set for him but I haven't had time to play with that yet. It was by ADS and used to be on ShareCG but is sadly long gone I'm afraid.
Yesterday I have downloaded the latest drivers for my Nvidia gtx 670 graphic card
and the Iray has started to work with gpu only rendering.
The card has 2 GB of vram, so probably I will hit its limits pretty easily,
but at least simple scenes renders so much faster right now.
I think I will no doubt appreciate the improvements made to 3Delight and DS as a whole, but, I'll probably be playing catch up more with them than I will doing anything with Iray.
Below is the 3Delight render from DS 4.8 beta of my previous scene.
Light setup is from http://www.daz3d.com/bwc-skies-2

Below is another try with Iray.

That's really nice, but, the cat looks a little washed out. I'm sure there are still tweaks to do there though. Definitely a step in the right direction. Mind you, if you look in Hellboy's gallery, he's already done a render with Iray that will floor you.
Could not find Hellboy image, you are talking about, but he has a lot of other gallery entries very impressive.
I think the Iray is the step in right direction and would like to explore it more.

Don't you just love the March Madness sales ?
It's now time for the MORRIS store sale, so I just had to grab Killian. He makes a fine beach hunk. ;-P
hmm almost the end of RR...N! 13, on to number 14! lol
I've only done a handful of renders so far this year, and they have all been of the same character,so only gonna post the latest couple here.
(actually if it wasn't for this character i would be on exactly 0 renders of the year ,just something about it made me want to open DS again)
Edit: seems I've fully embraced g2f too, i can't even go back to v4 now.

Shhhhh, if an admin gets wind they'll start a new thread before we're ready! Great renders though.
CHEERS!
Nice, though I do try and avoid photographic backgrounds as Daz characters tend to stand out like a sore thumb against them.

Yes, I have altered my rendering settings in Daz Studio 4.7 a couple of times.
I will post a screen dump of them later on.
Ok, I was thinking it was a bug in the software, not unheard of.
CHEERS!
Below is the screenshot of my current render settings.
Just installed Unity 5 personal edition and the free Viking Village

Wow, that looks really nice!

I've had this robot from Shukky downloaded pretty much since i started with daz studio, and today i finally installed it and used it lol.
Pretty cool! I think I have an F-22 they did around somewhere.

Just found my old render, one of my early Poser ones as far as I can recall:
CHEERS!
Picked up new robot last night.
Not sure if i have that jet. I might hit sharecg and see if there are any of shukky's models I'm still missing.
Nice!
By the way, in case any of you were wondering, if you've got the Beta of DS4.8, you are more than welcome to post your Iray renders here.
The more the merrier!
CHEERS!
DS beta 4.8 and Iray (cpu + gpu)
Rendering Time: 1 hour 7 minutes 51 seconds
As if by magic! LOL!
Looks good, how long would it take with 3Delight and what does it look like?
CHEERS!
Thanks, will post 3Delight render later on.
