:( Still no email notifications after I posted earlier and it says I'm still subscribed :(
I have occasionally found mail from DAZ3D in my spam folder - you might want to check whether someone at your ISP is dropping it on the virtual floor rather than delivering it to you.

That post came through this time o.0

I don't have spam folders on my mail server (it's through my webhost, not my ISP)... Well, I do, but they are disabled. I use Spam Assassin with strict settings but it's still set to deliver ALL mail to me, spam or not. From there, Outlook is set to filter anything marked as spam to a folder in there that I can skim over it really fast without opening anything to make sure nothing important is being marked. I'm getting other Daz emails though, and I'm getting notifications for another thread I'm subscribed to... just not this topic :( Maybe it will work now though because the one came through.

Sorry for dragging this off topic a bit. Thanks again for the current and any future goodies PAs! *goes back into lurking mode*

Thanks for the camera info. I didn't know if there was a special step in there or not so it's nice to hear it's used like a regular camera :)

Custom cameras in DS are really very easy to use. They haven't been that easy to create until recently, though. I really like the variety of different custom cameras we're starting to see now. I highly recommend Age of Armour's Atmospheric Effects, for example. There are lots of options for those who like to tweak settings, but also lots of presets for out-of-the-box fun.

There was a ToonCam gift last year, too. Is this one different? Should I replace the old one with this one?

This is a repackaged version of the same camera. I submitted it to make it available to people again this year. My description originally said that. Oh well.... Hopefully this will appeal to folks like me who actually like using DIM to manage content. ;)

For those who wonder how to use SketchCam and ToonCam, construct a scene, load the camera from the content library by double-clicking, aim the camera and render. :) Note: Loading a camera set in DS will replace other cameras in your scene. The "pro" versions of these cameras will give you the option of replacing or not, but these have the default behavior. So if you already have cameras lined up (or you've loaded a camera set that goes with the scene or something like that) either right-click and merge the camera, or, if you want to save an existing camera position, the best way I've found to do it is to create a null and copy the settings from your old camera to it, then copy the settings from the null to the new camera after it loads.

If none of that made any sense to you, remember: just load camera, point, render. ;)

Having noticed this replacement of cameras behavior in D/S was actually surprized the other day because no the Toon Camera didn't replace the default camera ... haven't a clue why it didn't, or why they normally do in the first place ... thank you for this additional information. And for the ToonCam :-)

lol welcome  mine's a permanent freebie so the original price is meant to be $0 but I guess DAZ had to put a number there... I was wondering how that would work! so others that had prices may or may not be permanent freebies too... not sure how the public are supposed to tell. DG may or may not be able to shed some light on the matter, wait and see I guess :)
