Yeah it looks perfect except for the hammer. It could work in a pinch if you didn't care about historical accuracy but the original colt 1911 is an iconic gun of the 30s and 40s. Would just enjoy getting one that's at least 80% accurate. (and one like this but for both male and female would be nice, I'm really glad content creators have more or less done away with this one gender only' prop nonsense.
I was going to say, except for the loop on the hammer, and the friction grooves being at an angle instead of straight up and down, it looks exactly like when I was in the army.
Yeah, really outside of it not having compatability with a Gen 8 male figure (not an issue, just a pain in the ass to position, parent ect) This definitely is my best choice for ease of use, and will just need to accept its not going to be historically accurate.
At that point I'd be using someone else's research to get the details. I would not be copying and trying to sell their real-life tangible product but using images of their work for reference might be seen by them as an infringement.
I doubt if they would. We use others' work for reference constantly, otherwise the process of creation would become impossible. As long as you are not including their photographs in your work you are not infringing.
That's why claims against "derivative" use can get onto pretty shaky legal ground. They are often tossed out of court.
Not really, with that funky rib on the barrel. It has other problems as well, such as the bore being grossly oversized compared to the tiny holes in the cylinder. And using a different shader on it melts it. And, the grain of the wood grips should be vertical, not horizontal.

Try the Modern Weapons Collection 1, it's based on the Colt Python, which has been around since 1955.
This is a pretty accurate model.
As a bonus, it comes with individual cartridges.
