Could someone please post an overview of the complete city 1, similar to the promo picture of city 2? I'm having trouble conceptualizing what city 1 looks like.

    TIA -

    Greetings,
I'd been keeping money set aside for these all darn month, or at least since it became clear we'd see the Majestic this month. It being TWO sets was unexpected, but thankfully I've gotten more donations for my other software work.

I splurged, and am ecstatic. Now to get to rendering. :)

Absolutely beautiful, melancholy and haunting. Everywhere I point the camera I see a good render, there's so much detail. I bought both sets right away and love them. This is Stonemason's best work yet, I think.

City 1 in overview (it has fewer buildings than II) and is therefor more open space

    City 2 has 4 buildings, City 1 has 2.

They combine perfect with the ruined city houses and blocks and Urban Spw 2.

Question: Are these city buildings available in something other than a desolate, crumbling set of textures?

I just realized that one reason I don't buy a lot of these scenes, be they creepy hallways, dank hospital rooms, or dirty cityscape/streetscape scenes is because they all look depressing, run down, and dilapidated. I don't want all my art to take on this dark, low-contrast tone.

I'm not necessarily looking for brand-new buildings, because I do know that most cities aren't brand new. I just want flexibility. Something more than broken windows and boarded up doorways. I don't know. Sorry if I sound like I'm complaining.

I think StoneMason's buildings from the last couple of years all mix and match perfectly

Did not use a stonemason ground here.. it's about the buildings of urban sp. 1, urban sp 2, citry ruins and aban. city

The name is a bit misleading I have never seen a city with 1 building before..

I get what you're saying, but it's only misleading if you aren't familiar with Stonemason's work and/or don't bother to look at the promo pics.

    Okay, I will look again.

But this has been my perception for many months now, and I'm not pinning it to just one single PA's content nor to just one genre of content such as buildings. I remember wondering to myself throughout the November and December sales if Halloween had become a year-long celebration since I was a kid. Perceptions are big and visual perceptions are even larger for me, especially since they are derived from what I see over and over again. Obviously, something has been burned into my consciousness since I rejoined in August, much of it being broken and/or boarded up windows.

    Going back to re-research...

Here... you go. These are Urban Sprawl2, Tin Pan Ally, Urban Sprawl, NYC Town homes and City Court Yard.
The important part to remember is that in many of these sets the Graffiti and Grime on buildings are just SURFACE layers that you can turn off as well. I can build almost any cityscape I need with the sets I have...From down town to a Seedy place full of crime.

I'd have to agree on this point. This post-apocalyptic themed stuff does start to get a bit depressing. That said, these two sets look wonderful in the promos and are brightened up somewhat by all the foliage ... but that price! After the excesses of several months of seemingly endless DAZ sales, discounts, offers, stacking deals, direct targeted coupons and just generally damn cool products, I really have to draw the line somewhere. For now, they will be wishlisted - but it will require an effort of Herculean willpower to keep them that way!!

lol, while doing the promos I did notice those hedges were very well cared for ,given it being in an abandoned environment :)..will make the next batch a bit more messy.

Just a quick one in the morning.

You can turn these buildings pretty fast into something that looks ok.
I think that is the advantage of Stonemason making them old.

It would be way harder to turn beautiful preserved buildings into decay

Left looking old but well renovated
Right is the one as you buy it here

    Total renovation time 7 minutes

In 30 minutes it could be including curtains, plants/flowers and more

    another quick one
    Corner has not been done
    left building - little renovation

    time 4,5 minutes.

And again.. when taking more time, you could choose other glass for the fopfloorwindows and add curtains and flowers
    and even interior (furniture)

    Everything is possible !

Okay, thank you both for the samples showing renovations.

I still see broken and boarded up windows, but they are somewhat less obvious and these renders do show improvement and are closer to what I want to do. Thank you for making the effort.

Does anybody getting this grid lines on the sky with the example Stonemason scene with included lights?
