    ...unemployment bad there as well?

It's around 11% here. Like I said before, its more than that just the people aren't being counted that aren't collecting. They aren't a part of the government figures

...here in Oregon, the "real" rate is somewhere between 14% - 15%.

Two of the three big corporations based here outsource all their assembly and manufacturing overseas and the third one is in the midst of yet another round of layoffs locally.

and on top of that is a general descrimination against the unemployed. some places descriminate on your credit rating.
...both are bad and should be illegal. One would think that in the latter, they would hire you so you could clear any debt incurred, especially that which occurred after losing your job and benefits.

Of course, who ever said business and the giverment ever used common sense? It's no wonder we are in the current mess.

Yes that has become increasingly true. They want to run a credit check on you to see if your in dire enough to steal from them.

...which is of course absolute crap. But again, when has business ever done the "right" or "smart thing"?

...apologies, but I am just about fed up with their bleedin' excuses why they won't hire people. and then say we the unemployed are the "lazy" ones.

Someday these people will be in our shoes and then see what it means to struggle to make ends meet and keep a roof over their heads.

As Eddie Murphy's character in the film Trading Places said:

"You know, it occurs to me that the best way you hurt rich people is by turning them into poor people. "

Today's grumble: Why does left over Blazing wings always taste 4 times hotter than the ones fresh from the oven? If I need instant heartburn I now know the perfect way to do it.

...the seasoning has time to work into the food more. This is why my pasta sauce and burrito/taco filling tastes so much better days later.

Sense is not common! Assuming that it is, is one of the major problems of this society.

I was going to say the same thing. Homemade spaghetti sauce always tastes better the next day(s). So does homemade chili, which we just had last night and tonight...one of the ingredients being two Serrano Chili Peppers that we grew ourselves. I find these things also thicken a little bit the next day. I love a thick, rich, spaghetti sauce. :)

...just had some of the homemade taco filling I made the other day. tasted so much better (and spicier).

What I usually do with my Taco/Burrito filling and Pasta sauce is make up a big batch at one time then after the first dinner, parcel out the rest into a couple containers and put them in the freezer. Nice almost "instant" dinners for the following week and the best thing they are still homemade and cost a lot less per serving than "heat & eat" convenience foods (and I, not some processed foods "engineer", control the ingredients that go into them),

Diane does the same when she makes spaghetti sauce. She makes it in a big crock pot. So it simmers all day. We have it for two nights, then the rest is in containers and we have it now and then. Or she'll make it before we go to New Hampshire for vacation and brings some with us. She does the same for her chourico and peppers. We get fresh sub rolls when we're there. Yum! And it saves us a lot of money dining out.

I bought it anyway...it's a DAZ Original, so I used my Feb coupon on it. It's getting harder to spend that thing. I have a few DO's in my wishlist. But every month I look at them and think, "Do I really want that?" I can't answer quick enough, so I pass it by. A couple of months ago a few of them were at a really low price...I should have picked up one of them. Oh, well.

There is a Mike 2 character in fast grab. Wonder if Mike 2 still has some good work in him, but where is Mike 2?

Can't find one in the Runtime. Usually the toast texture is part of the torso texture.

He should be in your product library if you ever downloaded him before

    Where is Mike 2.

He is down haunting the vaults of DAZ 3D, along with sundry others.

It is very spooky down there.

....felt the same way earlier this morning.

Made the mistake of having some coffee in the afternoon while out. Couldn't get to sleep even after a good dinner. Then, for some odd reason, this old project I had back when I took an entrepreneurial business class in college (we each had to work up a new idea for a company of our own as if it would be submitted for investment) started buzzing around in my head until morning.

...the ridiculous thing, it was for a premium service airline which would never "fly" in today's economy.

...and the stupid part, I found myself actually revising it for the current times and technology.

What a senseless waste of a night that was.

ahh... I accidentally deleted a poser 9 runtime library before I had a chance to copy it to the main runtime library. I unzipped a whole bunch of files into a temporary folder, then I deleted the zip files AND the temporary folder. Now I need to download like 30 or 40 zip files from Content Paradise and Renderosity again.

ok.. if you don't hear me for a day or two, you'll know what I'm doing. lol
