..very long (but not a "bad") day today (which is why I was not on earlier).
Looking for every contingency I can find. Was up at 7:00 this morning, went downtown to set up a case with a seniors' outreach organisation. Spent most of the day waiting for my intake interview. Then went to the state Work Source office out in the eastern Burbs to see what kinds of workshops they have for someone to change one's career since my current skillset and experience had netted me jack. Have n OTJ (On The Job Training) orientation tomorrow afternoon.
I'm no "pretty face", so receptionist and front desk positions are out.
My keyboarding skills have been compromised by my arthritis and no longer meet what most places are looking for.
I am no longer able bodied to perform common labour jobs again because of my arthritis.
I need to find a new niche.

LOL! Thats at the Bots thing. I mini'ed my browser and did a render. Came back and two full pages now show as read. That's pretty bad when its your thing to read as many posts as possible. But where do I stop now? No way to be sure I'll member every old post.

OK, I Googled it and there is some resemblance, though not all processes make it so pink. I don't care for McDonald's, but it is untrue that they use it in their McNuggets...they stopped that several years ago and now only use chicken breast, diced, in their McNuggets.
I don't normally get nuggets anywhere, and now I'm glad. Sort of like the pink slime in ground beef. I don't buy ground beef from plants. The butchers at my grocer grind up the chuck or sirloin (what I buy) right there, no pink slime involved. Whenever you see one of those recalls because of salmonella or other diseases, it's always those manufactured, processed varieties of ground beef. I never liked or trusted them. Yuck!

This is like the Saturday Night Live joke commercial for the 'Bass-O-Matic" though it real life. it uses the "whole" chicken: feet, beak, innards & all. They then process it to have the right "texture", "colour", and 'flavour" of the chicken portion advertised.
Think about the "Mc Rib" there are no ribs in that at all, it's all mechanically separated pork that is processed and shaped to look like a rib sandwich.
...well gotta get to bed. Like I mentioned it's been a very long day that started early. Met up with some friends who bought me dinner and a couple pints tonight, so brain completely starved of oxygen and and very, very tired.
Local team did good too, Portland over Brooklyn 124 to 80. Hopefully that's a good omen.
Pray that the Senate does the right thing and finally approves the UC extension so the rest of us can get on with life and have the resources we need to get ourselves reemployed.

Does it say on the menu that it is mechanically separated? It's federal law that it has to be stated. As I said, they don't use the chicken anymore...at least not for the nuggets. As for the ribs...like I said, I don't like McDonald's, so I don't eat there. I didn't even remember that they had ribs sandwiches. At least there is no mechanically separated beef product...that is banned.
And I think they probably don't have the head of the chicken, so beak is out. That just doesn't sound likely. Maybe the neck. Anyway, I don't eat a lot of fast food. Once in a great while I'll get the spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy's. That is breast meat. I think it's been maybe 4 or 5 months since the last time I had that.

Truthfully it looks like the mural paint I've used sometimes, I know they use pigment from mashed beetles and stuff but eeeeeeeeow %-P

trying to book a hotel stay on expedia, tried 3 times but it says i took too long. the hotel i wanted was on the same block as the otk party saturday.
holiday inn is weird, says you can't book more than 6 days in advance.
it sucks sitting on the floor of penn station at 4:am. they close off the section with the chairs at night, guessing they don't want homeless sleeping in them.
i live so far in the boonies, can't get a train when the club closes. 10 years ago we would hang out in a diner for a few hours, but i don't have that kind of fortitude any more. >.<</p>
